. . . If you drop your para unit and it breaks into 1/3s and one of the thirds is eliminated, when it reconstitutes, if you recombine it with the rest of the unit, the whole unit now cannot make paradrops . . .
Note that even if you re-divide the unit, the fragments which could originally airdrop won't be able to.

What happens if you divide the parent unit before you make the drop? Will an evaporated sub unit reconstitute without affecting the ability of the surviving siblings to conduct further air drops?

Not that I would ever use this tactic . . . just wondering.

The others are only effected if you recombine the units after one of them has evaporated and reconstituted. It doesn't matter if you divided the unit manually or it was the effect of combat or the drop itself.

They can be divided, recombined and dropped over and over again in any order.

If you lose a part and recombine it once that part reconstitutes, then you cannot drop that unit anymore. (or any of its sub-parts).

Yeah.

Why not? I don't see what the problem is with this tactic. It's not exactly cost free- three unit fragments will be less effective than the whole unit, and I don't see why intact fragments shouldn't be able to airdrop again.

Menschenfresser is correct on my meaning.
