I'd called to place the order because I thought I'd try it this time, but wanted to order it with the Disc to be shipped as well when it was available. The "salesperson" didn't even know if theri would be a "boxed/disc version"

Weird. I go to "Store" and "New Releases" and there it is (visiting the USA site), so I know it's there.

No, Digital Download comes first, then when everything is in place for physical shipment, that becomes an option with Digital download or purely as shipment.

IIRC, Matrix are working on a way of having the physical shipment option available ON RELEASE, with digital download and then shipping when the physical product becomes available, but they aren't there yet and I'm not privvy to how far along that road they are.

On my US page I get

No Products Are Currently Available

(Error Number: 31016935 - 0)

But it shows up on the Canadian and UK pages.
Successful D/L, Successful install and it launches

I want the game as well but want the boxed version along with the DD...  I was hoping to be able to Download now and have the box shipped when available...  Seems logical to me...

We are getting a massive response over the news that the game is out. I expect things will be slow for a little while. I will not send out the press release until later tonight to give you all a chance to get it before the big rush.

Great news...that and work has finally slowed a bit. Time to get crackin finishing my bios. The remodel work can wait a bit. Looks like we are getting an inch of freezing rain followed by large ammounts of snow tomorrow.

On every Matrix Games release this happens.  It takes a little time for the files to get all downloaded and setup to all of our servers.  Everyone should also do a refresh on their browser to make sure you are seeing the most recent page and not a cached page.  I also highly recommend that you go to our games section and select Forge of Freedom and click on the Buy link.  The links in the Buy section are direct links in the stores for each country to purchase the game.  Once again thank for your support.
