Dgold,

were these other bases short of supply? If a base has enough supply for all its LCU's, airgroups and ships it does not need a routine convoy to go to it.

I don"t know about supply in pbem, but I do recall pwhints or someplace that routine supply requires that mcs must be available in Los Angeles,Nagoya,or Calcutta(India)So the more mcs you pull out for special convoys the less effective routine supply becomes.

Major Tom,

Take Canton Island for example - I have just a inf. bn and a patrol group there and fuel and supply are quite low - it never seems to get routine supply. If I move in an inf. division, 3 air groups and a few naval units, will the routine convoy routine start filling up Canton with fuel and supplies automatically? Thanks.

Yeah, I noticed a series downturn in routine supply in early 1942.
When I checked L.A, India etc I had large amounts of merchies in there (Like icons with 60 and 70 under them) but routine convoys were only running at 15 to 30!
Nearly devestated the Indian and Dutch East Indies theatres!!!
However if I sent the merchies back to the pool (taking numbers in port down to 5 or 6 units per icon) I found routine supply went back up?? now running 100 to 150 units on routine supply and bases are beginning to recover.
HOWEVER I must send units back to pool every turn or problem begins again?
Hope this helps in tracking problem down.
Regards,
Steve

When I ran (v2.1) comp vs. comp, in Sep 45, most of US LCUs were at Palmyra, with CenPac, 3rd and 5th fleets, most of the ships, 30k fuel, and less than 100 supply.
Meanwhile other units had been making very slow progress in New Guinea area. LA was empty of MCS. India was also in low supply.

Just wondering about a Timetable for the 2.2 patch-would really like to play a pbem game and waiting for the convoy glitch to be fixed.

Just a quick thought...
If all the merchants accumulate in 2 or 3 ports, and as was stated in an earlier thread each port can only handle a certain amount of merchants, could you end up with say a port that can only utilise 30 merchants but it has 120 in there which would leave 90 in limbo??
I know that if I just leave routine supply to do its own thing I eventually end up with 25 to 40 merchants running total, but since i've been scouring the ports and sending the large amounts back to the pool I haven't dropped below 100, and average about 130??
This could end up as a total furfey but the more info collected the better the chance for the matrix guys to track it down and at the moment this lack of supply is a real pain...

Steve
