I can see his AZOC in Juneau and mine in Seattle (and SF). They just don't do anything.

Apparently neither of us can now launch air attacks on Seattle. His carriers won't and none of my air units do. This is a real p'er, since this is the pivotal battle of the war.

I can certainly see your point. There is one small piece of justification, though: as anyone who has lived in Seattle knows, the area is subject to bad weather. Perhaps all the targets are consistenly "socked in".

Is the IJN recieving supplies and op points?
 
What is the date, the months of May thru Aug are actually pretty good. Dec thru Apr is always shaky

It's April 29, 1942. I thought that Seattle was not in the bad weather zone.

Have the basic areas of the south west pacific and indonesia been conquered?
New Guinea, New Ireland, New Heberties (sp)?
Sumatra, Java et al?
 
Burma?  What is happening in China, has he stripped infantry divisions out for these extravagances?

Seattle is not in the Arctic Weather Zone, but there seem to be undocumented features concerning weather in other areas as well. For instance, there is a Monsoon season in the Burma bases (March, April, and May IIRC) during which attacking LCU's are at 1/4 effectiveness.

Although I have only been playing about 2 days, I have noticed the Japanese have a very large advantage over the Allies. So I would assume it isnt too hard to finish the game quickly with the Japanese, however, I could be wrong about this, it just seems when I play Allies, I have a hard time doing very much. Then again, it could be I just suck really bad Serriously though, the Japanese have more transport ships and troops the the Allies seem to have, and trying to get my Factories (as the Allies) to produce anything in a timely manner is almost futile. I dont know, maybe I just need more practice at the game?

Monte, Isoroku has most of the historic bases taken. I still have Port Morseby and everything west of Rangoon. He took a base in China, but I don't remember the name. I hold Cairns in Australia with a lot of troops.
I think he has shifted his focus away from Seattle, since I got three divisions in SF two turns ago to reinforce it.
I'm still trying to scrape together enough to launch Operation Booyah.

P.S. May '42, Isoroku invaded Midway again. The infantry brigade I had sent there held their ground in some tough fighting. It's going to be close.

It's June '42. I lost Midway. I knew that I could not defend Midway and Seattle, so I had concentrated on protecting the west coast. I launched another diversion against Medan. Two of the most experienced divisions in Asia with over 480 squads and dozens of artillery pieces and AFV's landed and generated a total combat force of...3 squads. Then the two British CV's covering the landing were attacked and each was hit once...and sank. I'm at war with the Japanese, but I am losing to the Peter Principle.
Isoroku fell back from Cairns and reduced his forces in Seattle to attack Midway, so I am ordering a general summer offensive at Seattle, Cloncurry and in China. Halsey struck a Surface Combat TF at Seattle and sank a cruiser and damaged some other ships. Soon I'll have all 6 USN carriers and a pair of CVE's. Then I'll be able to go toe to toe with Isoroku.

"The most experienced divisions in Asia" isn't saying much. Unfortunately, there was a mistake in the hard-coding for the LCU experience checks, and it turns out you need an EXP rating of 71 to be immune to readiness collapse.

About CV combat: my guideline is not to engage the IJN unless all CV's have upgraded to 36 fighters onboard, plus the TBD's have been replaced by TBF's. (Superior search range.)

Well it’s 1943 and it seems that I have saved the West Coast of the U.S. The Battle for Seattle stopped HidE’s drive. I had shifted the divisions in Pearl, and pretty much everything else, there and it worked. Juneau is the last remaining Japanese base in North America and I have it under siege. My subs are operating off the Japanese coast and are beginning to chew up their merchant fleet. I had upgraded the Chinese bases to four point airfields and I used them to bomb western Japan with Wellingtons. This forced HidE to use a lot of resources and take these bases. Now he is trying to overrun Australia. I have Corsairs and Lightnings to battles his Zeros. In ’42 I pretty much got beat like a drum. Now, it’s time to get rolling. Here are some screen shots.

A very interesting position! The Japanese did some major damage in Australia and North America, but they didn't seem to get far in Burma/India. And has Bataan been holding out all this time?

Not a bad position to be in. Jabs at the Central Pacific look like fruitful endevours at this point - keep us posted [8D]

@ Capt. Harlock-Yes, HidE went right for the jugular with the snow route to the U.S. After the Battle for Seattle, he shifted his navy south and hit Australia, which left several large infantry units hanging on a dead vine in North America. I have been cleaning them out so that I can release my garrisons for action elsewhere. I guess this didn’t leave HidE much left over for India or Bataan.

@Skipjack-Yes, HidE has his navy focused on Australia at the moment. I have built up airpower there in hopes of trading planes for a carrier or two. I need to engage and defeat his carriers before I can start turning the screws. Maybe an invasion of the home islands will bring him to battle.

    I hope this is still going. I was interested in it.

Thank you for keeping your interest on my challenge.
However, I can't open our play records because I haven't asked the permission from my partners.
