I tried it..the first entry was some WebNews site with the headline:

"Retarded California Man Googles Own Name". After listing my home address, IP number, Bank of America account number and password, Social Security Number and my mother's maiden name, there was a picture of me, slack-jawed staring right into my own webcam. I'll never do that again. Everything was dead on except an alleged membership in the Man Boy Love Association. The bastards.

Mandrake, you're a freak! [:D] I bet you would be a blast at a party.

no, he's not....

I tried my name a few months ago, but since most italian families use the same names, there are prob. 5,000,000 with the same as me. [:D]
so I'm pretty sure no one can find me, [8D] needle in a hay stack

I have heard that certain employers will do this for applicants, so I'm thankful that nothing incriminating showed up.

I did this years ago when this "egosurfing" (Oleg's term, I didn't know it was called that way) first hit the spotlight.

My name is very common name over here so I was not surprised when I hit upon these guys :

- a champion carp fisher - has his own line of bait, published a book on fishing
- a motorcycle sidecar racer with a few grand-prix victories under his belt
- a nude model photographer (I'm not making this stuff up - honestly)
- a guy who works on the staff of the minister of Social Affairs
- a guy who works in IT just like me, but who lives 20 km down the road.

The only one I worry about is that nude model photographer - my wife would kill me if she tought I was the same guy [:D]

I am pretty sure I am the only person on the planet with my name-surname combination (good for egosurfing, bad for hiding identity Kirby Higbe style [:D] LOL)

A google of my name yields someone doing the same thing I did in the software industry, but this one is female.
