Near the start of Fall of '42 - current troops.

Casualties - note heavy ground and air fighting between Germany and Russia, and air fighting between Germany and the British is starting to take its toll on the Germans.

This is a fairly quiet turn. The Russians lack the forces to push into Central Europe but advance into Yugoslvia - facing little opposition. The British bomb France.

The biggest news is actually the lack of news from the Pacific. It is Fall of '42 and there has still be no war with Japan! This will be the latest that war with Japan has started in all my AWD games. Here is the (still relatively peaceful) world as it stands near the end of '42.

January 7, 1943 - the Day that shall live in Infamy! The forces of Imperial Japan - after a healthy dose of sake - move against the Allies. Tim leaves his carrier force in a strong position at Hawaii.

The Allies take the opportunity to reinforce Java to contain Japanese ambitions.

Spring of '43 - the Soviets have been essentially stalemated in Europe, and Uncle Joe orders a Spring offensive to push forward. Unfortunately, the offensive results in attrition that is more costly to the Soviets. The stalemate continues for now.

Summer of '43 sees the Western Allies return to the continent via the Low Countries. Allied air hits in preparation for the landings, which are successful.

The Allied air presence in Southeast Asia keeps the pressure on Japan.

Air attack on fleets.

Fall of '43 sees the Soviets advance after the Germans call troops back to defend the Reich in the west, breaking the stalemate in the East.

The Allied airforces hit the remaining Luftwaffe bases. I believe the Soviets hit first. Here is the Western Allied attack. In any case, Allied losses are heavy.

Winter of '44. The Western Allies try to take out Germany early - but their offensive stalls in a snowstorm. Casualties are high to the Allies - who would have been better served by waiting.

In Southeast Asia, the Allies begin to push Japan back - liberating Sumatra.

Spring of '44. Current troops. Germany remains alive, with a strong panzer force. But in other areas, it is showing the strain of war.

Casualties so far.

The Allies continue to attrition the Germans. The Soviet attempt to take East Germany is particularly bloody.

In the Pacific, the Japanese have moved troops back from Hawaii - giving the Allies a chance to advance.

And the Allies engage the Japanese airforce in a large airbattle off of China.
