I've seen some ill-informed, trollish posts but this one takes the cake. I bet you're one of the first to complain about releasing unfinished ganes.

I just looked up UFO: Aftershock at GameSpot and it got a
4.0. I hope this next one is improved.
So what. Its bad journalism.
Gamespot doesn't know how to evaluate tactical role playing games. After shock was pretty good. I finished it. They also gave Brigade E5 a 4.5 score. Another tactical RP game. BE5 is the best game I've playe in years. Gamespot is out to lunch. Unless its warhammer or some codemaster game it gets a really low score.

Respond to the substance of my post instead of immediately becoming insulting. I made an assertion. You don't like it, answer wth argument, not dung flinging.
Review my posts before you make statements about what I say when I post.

PC-Gamer gave UFO Aftershock a 51/100 in the Feb 01-2006 issue.
Are you referring to Brigade E5: New Jagged Union? If so it got a 3.5 not 4.5 and the combined ratings from nine commercial sources gave it a 4.1. I prefer to take all the ratings I can find and come to an educated conclusion before I spend a penny.

I'm really happy to hear this. I'd been waiting for this game and was annoyed when they missed the initial release date back in the Jan/Feb timeframe. I had assumed it died the death of so many other games that are announced and never released.
I tend to agree that the other recent X-Com follow-on's have been pale shadows of the original, but I keep hoping that someone will finally get it right again. I've got more faith in Matrix to release a good product than I would any other company (unfixxed sound bugs in Starshatter notwithstanding...)
Count me in on this one.

Wow. Just wow. I thought this was one of those games that would never actually see the light of day, and I'm shocked that Matrix would publish something like this. Seems a little outside their normal genre. That said, freakin' bravo Matrix for taking a chance on a title like this! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised just *how* much of a market there is for a truly worthy sucessor to X-Com...

I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with Matrix distributing a game that's already been developed. Is that really going to slow down the release of, say, Guns of August?

Is there any news from the beta testers for this game?
On that subject, HS, stop playing so many games and get Eagle Day to BTR out please....[;)]
don't want to steal the thread, drop by our fourm and ask some stuff and I can tell you what is going on
and
I was playing Aftershock and Aftermath before EDtBTR got started, not since
David, any idea on the time line for release ? I got the game preordered, but I would rather spend my money with you then with someone else

the hassle being, I think that was the 3rd release date for it, it was suppost to be out early Nov

When we aren't publishing wargames, Sci-Fi is actually our next favorite genre. And when you combine Sci-Fi with tactics, we're just as excited as you guys are. I played the heck out of the original X-Com, multiple times through...

Aftershock had about a billion bugs in it, and most of them couldn't be shot by the player. The next one after that, Afterlight... well that one's just annoying...
Not sure you are quiote right here. I think the order was as follows?
Aftershock - 2005
AfterMath - 2006
AfterLight - 2007

That's rather confusing, so they release their retail version and you release one to with game on demand? Same manual? I have purchased more then a few matrix games but to be honest the one thing that bothers me with the game on demand is the quality of the CD-Roms you use. I bought Close Combat:COI and the manual and case were awesome but the CD-Rom (had a nice label though) was one of those thin blueish colored ones that if you accidently get a finger print on it's like fly paper...hell to get off(which usually ends up scuffing the disc). All I buy are boxed versions I don't do downloads so the quality is important to me...not a biggie to some but could be better quality discs.

Yes, but not confusing, pretty much standard.

Ok so I got to the (
www.trisynergy.com) link and there is nothing on their homepage about this game. [:(][&:] Sorry but I don't want to have to hunt for it. And Hard Sarge I would love to read what you have to say about the game but you did not tell me where to find the thread. Some specifics please.[&o] Also, UFO 1 and 2 were great games and I've been waiting a long time for someone to get the sequel right so I'm very happy Matrix is involved.
