and to keep the player/AI honest, the Ga's are grouped with the Trainer type Aircraft (Trainers can only be changed with other trainers)
{don't mind the name, that only has meaning to me}

it is a little HARD to see what is what in the old shot, with all the Radars turned on, but it should give you a lttle better idea of what it is looking like

Regarding upgrade paths, will it be possible to turn them off and continue to fly with an older model rather than having the unit automatically upgrading. For example can I stop an Italian unit from switching to German models. (Think PDU of WITP)

That's on the to-do list, but it's not a priority...

Just a questions to speed:
Do you assume the german allies don't use maximum engine power on their fighters? The Ga-6 is listed with 387 mph but that's speed with climb an combat rating (~620 km/h). With maximum power the G-6 is capable of 640-645 km/h, with MW-50 660 to 665 km/h.
It's somewhat similar with the G-2/Ga-2 but their engine was not fully rated until at least 10/1943 due to DB 605A problems. AFAIK the G-2 with maximum power reached about 655 or even 660 km/h because it was aerodynamically more clean (no MG bulges, no wing tire bulges, fully retractable tail wheel).
Another thing: The foreign 109Ga variants should still use standard Bf 109 parts and not specific 109Ga parts.

most of my sources say the G6 was one of the slower models, the G2 is faster ?
I wanted the factories outside of Ge to be making the parts, soon, the parts will be a dime a dozen, so want the player to have to plan a little bit on what he wants to make and why

I thank you Sir for the update !!!
Other than the update to the old PacWar I have been looking forward to this one for some time.
It looks like you have taken the old girl out and shined her up right !
From what I can see from the screenies a lot of hard work and dedication has gone into this project and I salute you and your comrades !

Many sources have not only the maximum speeds of the Bf 109 somewhat mixed up, comparing climb and combat speeds to allied max speeds, but have also problems with Rüststand and Rüstsatz numbers.
The G-2 with fully rated DB 605A was nearly as fast as the G-6 with MW-50 for the reasons given in my last post. The G-6 would have been a little bit faster if they had used a better streamlined engine fairing to cover the MG 131 bulges (as they used on the DB 605AS equipped machines).

Been running some tests, added some stuff, but my programmer don't want me showing off some of the map and stuff until he gets it all correct
so here are some shots of the same page showing what is going on, with out showing much
Learned a big lesson, don't lead off with Ju 87s

which that was a slow opening day, not alot of action
2nd day was a little more action

Massive raids to the AFs, with some crisscrossing and delays, which means 109s from other raids were getting clean shots at the RAF that were attacking other raids, Ju 87s got a day of rest and lots of movement going on behind the lines
I see a number of things I need to report to Harley (which is the idea of the tests to start with)
one thing I can do, I need to add more fuel to the Drop tanks of the 110s
the 3rd day, is a weather day
4th day, time to start to work on the Ecc of the English
hit some of the AFAC that are close and some CFAC also
(I took a snap of the 4th turn, but didn't save it [:-]
5th day, more mix raids, some AFs raids and some Alum raids

my programmers don't like the way I tend to tell our warts and what I want to correct, so I better stay quiet on some of what I am seeing and what we will be working on next, but, there is plenty to work on
