With the visible corruption in the US justice department, which will probably go rather unpunished, I would say that Paris's little stunt is on par with the way the US judicial system is headed... and probably one of the least serious instances of special priviledge going on right now. [8|]

But it is a visible and "all-over-the-news" event, and because it has a celebrity, then the American people will listen (we tune out important news). Sigh... come on Paris, even Martha Stewart served SOME time.

I heard a rumor that the prosecutor is demanding that the prison officials who let her go be held in contempt of court[X(]

heh

Paris, who was convicted and sent to jail, was released, while prison officals, who guard the prisons, will be sent to jail.

You can't make this stuff up....

I wonder how much mommy paid the prison officials to let her out on sickness issues? You know it happened. I dreamt it happened so I know it happened now. lol

Well, good for that, I was beginning to wonder what our country had come to. But, I'd still like to see her have to shack up with the rest of the riff raff in there. ;)~~~ I can see some big ole street mama come over to her now saying. "Gimme your shoes honey, then gimme everything else you got" (licking her lips in anticipation) lol Also, I don't know why, but, I expect to see some movie made out of this. She'll probably commit suicide, her fans will go crazy and riot even to the point of attacking the judge, all hell will break lose and then the big earthquake of the century will happen along the fault line. ;)

EDIT: Also clue me in on Monica Gooding, see, I don't know squat about her, she's not in the news like this piss ant Paris.

Just out of curiosity Ravin, are you looking for excuses to pad your post count or do you actually care about any of this?  [;)]

As usual, wikipedia gives a startlingly up-to-the minute article on Goodling and the entire judicial controversy (and she IS in the news... lots... just not on the entertainment page. She was the Director of Public affairs for the USDOJ and was under Alberto Gonzalez (she was appointed by President Bush).

She is currently under fire because she has been implicated as working with Gonzalez in the recent DOJ controversy regarding the dismissal of seven US Attorneys. The implication is that these attorneys were dismissed for political gain, particularly to impede judicial actions against key Republicans or because they failed to target Democrats (there has yet to be a clear rationale given).

She is further under fire because her credentials are WOEFULLY short of those needed for her position. While she is a lawyer, she graduated from Pat Robertson's law school Reagent (a tier 4 school according to US News and World Report, with places like Harvard and Yale being tier 1 and tier 4 being very low). Her appointment seems to be driven solely by the fact that she is a fundamentalist Christian, rather than her legal acumen.

Hope that helps, RH!

Yeah thanks SoM I didn't know all that. I just read what's on the webpage when I login. She doesn't get any activity there that I've noticed.
@Jchastain: Does it really look like I need to PAD my post count? ;)

Nope. But the alternative, that you actually care about this drivel, is even less comprehensible. [;)]
