Veers, I was thinking with Erik on this, I think. A unit can land on just about any shore, but it wouldn't be able to land any heavy equipment or any large amount of supplies. But a unit could land with no heavy equipment/low supply and still do something. A port facility is required for large unit landings (unless you bring your Mulberry along). So the way the game is set up is almost correct.

Another thing that needs to be fixed is units retreating from deep sea hexes onto land.
Some light inf equipment should be able to reach shore, but heavy equipment shold be lost.

I don't know, I was just guessing. How much supply can a combat unit carry with them from a landing craft to the beach?
