Ryan,
...I think we need a place to post .srf files so the 'community' will have access to these user created files (as long as people don't mind sharing). That way we could build up a large database of resource files and avoid replication of effort.
Send me a PM. Think having a central download area would be outstanding!

Manouverability of a plane is not simply turn (in which the P-61 was rather good) but roll and climb plus speed as well - and P-61 was not so great in those.
How will these factors influence combat performance for any plane in this game (don't have it yet)? What's the different levels for manouverability in the first place? 1-10?
How do altitude ratings, cruising speed, etc interact/take affect at combat?
Would like to know that kind of stuff from those more expereinced as if I do get into the game I would certainly like to do some mods (or at least the graphics as I'm crap juggeling files around).
Cheers!

Firstly big thanks to Ryan and Unhappy for taking the time to post so much info on modding.
I followed the guide and created a Fulmar.srf file sucessfully today using MS Paint and a imported graphic off the net. My Fulmar.png file looks fine in Paint, and I have used the correct purple background colour etc, but when I create my SRF file in CAW the graphics all end up with a purple surround.
Any ideas how to get round this? I don't have access to a really decent paint programme if its a question of turning on/off layers.
Cheers

Hmmmm...Are you sure you used the right background color? Check the Hue/Sat/Lum/Red/Green/Blue settings.
Oh, I should have mentioned this - from Paint I just saved my files as .BMP, rather than using .PNG I probably should use .PNG because it is a lot smaller file size. Anyway - try saving it as a .BMP and using that as the raw file and see if it works.

Went back and started again, created a Swordfish profile, saving as a .bmp which worked perfectly thanks. The end result looks alright but not as good as the other stuff posted here so far. Mind you this is the first time I have played with graphics like this.
Going to create some British .srf files for a Indian Ocean scenario, though the ships might be fun [:)]

Kiwi,
I've got some .srf files finished or in progress that might interest you: HMS Illustrious, HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Repulse, British 'E' Class Destroyer and a Supermarine Walrus. They don't look as nice as Ryan's but you may still want to use them. I can email them to you if you'd like.
