Hi,
The Russia scenario uses approx. batallions. So a unit with 2 light tanks, 25 infantry would represent about 2 infantry divisions and 1 pz division. The End Sieg scenario does the same.
The Gothic Line and Ardennes Scenario use Platoon level represenations.
The Afrika Scenario use Company level represenations.

Vic, thanks for this bit of information...if I understand you correctly, for the Russian scenario, 1 inf unit = 1 inf battalion, and 1 tank unit = 1 tank battalion. This seems to make sense, a typical infantry division imght have 9 battalions (3 regiments with 3 battalions each), two divisions equalling 18, and it sounds right that a panzer division would have 6 battalions of infantry...thus the 25 infantry units. Thanks again for the info Vic!

Listen TPM,
This is approx! If you want iron realism pick another game, Advanced Tactics is pretty realistic and historically correct but will not be able to pass the Groggiest Grognard test.
However the engine and editor do enable you to right any wrongs you think i made
kind regards,
Victor

100% agree Vic ! [&o]
Most important for me was always that the unittypes are balanced to eachother.
For myself i must say i´m very pleased with the balance now. It just feels good.
And i also like that i can make my own unit mix. The flexibility to produce
troops for MY special strategy and use them in my units is a good thing.
I do not need 100% realistic amount of infantry in my units. Depending on their job
and place i decide the unit mix myself. Maybe i´m the only one but that´s what i like !!

HAHAHA! I understand Vic...believe me, I'm not interested in "iron realism"...you're talking to the guy that would take PT1 over TOAW (which is a great game) any day of the week!
I was just curious as to how you guys went about designing the scenarios, how you came up with your unit configurations. It just adds to my own particular enjoyment of the game if I can refer to units in a historical context...if I've got a unit (in the Russian scenario) with 8-12 infantry defending a town, I can refer to it as a "division" and not "my unit with 7-12 fictional infantry units".
Thanks again for the info, can't wait for the game!

Thats fine, if the scale is defineable depending on the size of the scenario, I'm happy. I guess the system has to be flexible, if intend to simulate the eastern front and the Pacific front in the same package.I didn't mean to sound so harsh, in my earlier comments.
