Concur. Mizuho was too slow, but Nisshin most likely would have been Chitose-ified if she'd still been around at the time..

I found the Nisshin story rather sad considering how useful the ship was and for Japan to lose it on a transport mission to the Buin seems a bit wasteful. Escorted by two DDs from Kure, well considering naval assets at the time I guess this was pretty extravagant for transporting a garrison force.
Linky to the Nisshin loss:

I read that very story last night when I was surfing the IJN website. It is a sad story that I wasn't familiar with. Would make a fine magasine article somewhere.
Nisshin SHOULD be allowed into the game for conversion just like the others! On my soapbox...

High-speed transport is also a purpose of building such ships in IJN. In the game no one would risk his valuable ships in such mission, I suppose.....Generally I place float-fighters on them if possible and let them accompany KB.
As a CHS fan, I found Nissin much useful while operating M6A1 .

About the BB conversions
I converted them as I have a 4BB advantage in allies have lost 4BB to my nil ( also lost about 8CA to my 3 ) so I do not need them as much . In fact for March 43 I probably am much stronger on the surface .
what I will need is good flak ships . I plan to forget the speed and instead get the best flak possible into my CV groups plus adding the RUFES . I will robably have them with 18 Rufes and 6 Alf
