It's not really needed to make German units worse or to withdraw units. It's also not neded to add ALL german land forces - why should one? You simply add enough at the beginning to make Germany strong enough to conquer Britain (while giving the British not many troops at the beginnung) or to conquer Afrika. If you then don't give Germany many new troops, while the Allies recieve a strong amount of new assembled troops, the allies will get significant stronger in 1944. If not possible, why then try to implement every single historic unit, even if it was sent to russia later or perhaps was lost in Tunis?
To make such a mod possible, one simply has to forget of dreaming to add every single historic batallion - it's just needed to add as many or as less on both sides, to allow a historc situation!
Doning this, there shall be plenty of slots!
It is really nice to see "Oh, this is the 213. ID and this the Panzerlehr-Division", but that's in fact not nessecary to make the game funny and playable! One simply has to simulate the historic situation by reinforcement and quality of the troops wich is - in fact - possible!
The allies may be forced to use the russian port! How? Just add enough ressources to this port, while the US alone can't keep the British Industry at maximum. If the British want to produce at maximum, they simply will have to go to russia to get the ressources there - which then emulates the Konvois going to Murmansk an Archangelst. That will give Norway even more importance as naval- and airbase.
Why would one need Iran? The port simply should make the battlefield bigger. It's not there to reinforce Russia, but to force the Allied Player to start one risky convoi route more than the one to the States/Canada.
Doing it the way I told, in 1944 there will not be the full German army ready to face the allies, as the lacking reinforcements are explained to fight in russia. By having the need to sail to Russia to get enough ressources, German land based aviation has the possibility to threaten the british ships - and it forces the allied side to split their seapower to protect both routes.
By this way one can imitate the historic situation at the expense of having the wrong german units comparing with the historic situation. But by having a working mod of this scenaro then, who really cares about a wrong for a Division, if the power of both sides change as it did between 41 and 45?
