1. Can the A/I forces be hidden from the player in the battle generator to add another fog of war? For instance, you know the composition of the enemy, ie armored, infantry, etc but you don't know the exact percentage.
Yes all variables can be randomized or not as you like.
2. Are there plans for a Western European theater version ? If not, I might build a mod but it's much better if you save us the heart ache!! [:)]
thanks,
Rob
Depends on how well PCK does. If it does well enough to support further development of the franchise, I think western europe is high on the list of future possibilities.

I've made a few tests of battles for the Western front as well as what-ifs involving Mauses and even some T-55/T-62 vs M60 mockups. The core system works fine in these cases though 1kmx1km is a little small for late and post WWII.

Erik thinks it might be time to move to the WESTERN FRONT after this one and then keep adding elements of the Eastern Front into those series. YAY!
Honestly, I think by the third release it will be time to give the Western Front its due and I think a lot of folks are waiting to see that. With that said though, I expect every future release will continue to add a bit to the Eastern Front as well.

The good thing about that is that any new German vehicles can be used in either front. And a few Allied tanks can used as Lend Lease.

Latest SS of the RBG. I have added a few extra features since I lasted posted [;)]. Unit histories and potential OOB (prior to generation) are now in and are toggleable.

In one of the threads, you wrote that those that have PC:OWS will have 27 maps to choose from for generating random (or design your own) scenarios. I don't have PC:OWS. How many maps will come with PC:K?
Also, in RBG screenshots couple of questions:
1) in the area to the rigth of the narrative terrain description box, the top button used to be labled season, it looks different in the latest screen shot, is it still a season button?
2) in the controls at top of screen couple of buttong used to indicate direction of attack, then I saw them with info like Kessel cutoff, and envelop, and in latest screen the again look like attack direction, is it still attack direction then?
This look random battle and random campaign generator looks pretty good to me, but I'm still a little concerned that the maps might get old after a while.
Thanks!
Rick

He meant Kharkov - Winterstorm did not come with a random battle generator and it only had 11 maps, if I recall correctly.

Yes, that's still the season button. The green leaf you see there represents Spring.
2) in the controls at top of screen couple of buttong used to indicate direction of attack, then I saw them with info like Kessel cutoff, and envelop, and in latest screen the again look like attack direction, is it still attack direction then?
Yes indeed, but it's more appropriately the "setup" which can include both attack direction and special situations like a kessel.
This look random battle and random campaign generator looks pretty good to me, but I'm still a little concerned that the maps might get old after a while.
Because of the different "rotations" to the map depending on which side you're fighting to/from (and the kessel possibility) there's actually a lot of play value in the maps. I've fought over the same map several times from different directions and it felt pretty new each time. I think the included maps will do a pretty good job of providing variety and on the plus side, since they are design maps they are more interesting than the average randomly generated map.
With that said, our ultimate goal in a future release is indeed a random map generator and full map editor, but that will take quite a bit more time for this kind of map quality.
Regards,
- Erik

Thanks for fast response Eric. His 27 map comment i thought referred to having maps from both PCOWS and PCK. So it sounds like PC:K comes with 16 maps?
I thought I read the maps could rotate, but after reading through a few times I wasn't sure. But from your response, sounds like this is the case. That should work. I guess I played the original Squad Leader with only 3 map panels to work from if I recall.
Sounds like I'll have to give this one a shot.
Thanks again,
Rick

I hope it is by the time the YANKS enter the picture.

And please oh please please please don't let the Yanks game be "Battle for yet another OMAHA BEACH invasion lol Let's start with the Omaha beach invasion already done with past and somewhere nice and comfy on mainland France like Caen.

Or a BULGE game I still like Bulge games, but, I am sick to death of "The Longest Day". lol

I agree. Operation Cobra for the "yanks" , as ravinhood would say.
For the Tommies, yeah Caen. It would be sweet to have a FIREFLY in ambush waiting for the Tiger with 007 waltz by ...
(in my best Englander accent) ...
'Hullo, Oboe 3 Charlie. Hullo, Oboe 3 Charlie.
View Hallo! Three Tigers, moving north, line ahead on road.
Twelve hundred yards at one o'clock.
Oboe 3 Charlie, over.'
SLAM-CRASH of an 88mm.
BLAM-CRASH - slightly different sound, equally imperious, of the seventeen-pounder.
'Oboe Able to Oboe. Second Tiger brewing.
Am keeping third busy while Charlie brings to bear, Over.'
'Oboe, bloody good show. Off.'
Exerpt from the book TANK! , by Ken Tout.

If you must go to another front, please let us skip France altogether.
Italy might be ok but France and Africa is no go for me.
So i dont agree with ravinhood [;)]

Indeed, we're still polishing and adding last minute content. Soon, soon... note that the announcement said "during March".

You don't want to be known as the one who gave us FALSE hopes now are yah? So, I fully expect a release THIS weekend on the 15th.
