Hi Monadman.

Just quick questions,
is it possible to just load the last turn file from the player just before you?
or do you have to load every single turn from the other players aswell?
What happens if you load the other players turns in a non correct order? France can change the order every month so it would be dificult to track the current order.

I'm thinking in a situation when you are off for a few days checking email and then you come back and you have to load the game to play your turn.

It would be nice to have everything in just the "last turn file sent", dunno if that means a huge file.

thks in advance.

Jordi,

You need to load each in succession. The program will not accept a turn out of order (will not even show up so you cannot try to). Also, the status window should show you if Britain or France changed their movement order. Tip: place your cursor on the currently listed phase in the Top Nation Info Panel and it will show you the current order for that phase.

Thanks Monadman for your quick answers.

Regarding that maybe will be possible in the future to use a single turn file. No idea how but as you know exactly the number of phases happened between your last turn and the current one (7 I guess) you can always mantain the 7 last phases played in that file all toguether.

No idea if it's possible.

I guess having to load 7 files every time you need to play a phase can be improved in some easy way. Don't kwon how, maybe just to concatenate the last 7 turn files in a single file using the current Nation's Order, adding the new one at the end and removing the oldest at the beginning. Sending big files is not problem nowadays (not like having to send a VGAPlanets trn file using uencode years ago...)

Just a suggestion :-) for version 2.0...

Thanks for all your answers, Marshall. I never played the boardgame version but have heard nothing but good things about it, so I'm considering getting this.
I'm wondering, how cheat-proof is the PBEM?

we've added some tamper alarms and password protection but I'm sure it's not perfect. Hopefully the host can idetify someone who tries to cheat and with his powers replaces him.
