I just pulled my usb mouse out and turned of my virus protection and no joy it still hangs

Try closing all other apps and give it another try. Is it hanging at the same point reported above?

Try typing in the serial number with the dash marks seperating the number.  I believe part of the problem could be copy and paste serial number!  Example:
1111-2222-3333-4444 it installed fine on mine computer with XP with antivirus program on and connected to a hub.

Nope.  I had to disconnect my hub and then it installed fine.  Believe me, I tried copy/paste, typing serial number with my num pad, using number keys across top of my keyboard, and anything else you could imagine.  After all that, I removed my hub and it installed perfectly.

How is the hub interfering?

I don't know as much as many here do about computers so I'm just wondering for future reference the effect a hub has on game installation.

Heh, I sure as hell wish I knew.  I guess something about external USB products plugged in was interfering with that last file being installed?  Maybe that question ranks up with the meaning of life and where does the universe end.

Tried it one at a time and it appears that my Qucktime launcher was the app that allowed the install to complete. Thanks

Is there any further update on this install problem as I've tried both installers, with and without the usb mouse and it still hangs.

Frustrating...
