Oh of course as a moderator I'm a different person. I only go after those that don't really add anything to the topic and just call other people names or attack them. [:D] As long as people are talking about the topic I have no problems with them. But, there are a COUPLE here that would get the AXE probably my first day. hehe

Just be careful to check the name of the poster first or you're likely to become the first moderator who accidentely banned himself [;)]

I think it's counter productive to the forum to have someone who, by their mere presence, annoys other people, regularly takes topics off topic, inflames existing flame wars and is just generally obnoxious.

I therefore object to ravinhoods application for Forum Moderator.

Whilst I'm here, I might as well say (before anyone else pops up and speaks)...it's for the same reasons that I would veto any application made on my behalf [:D]

The whole point, and Ravinhood said so as well, is that he would act and behave quite differently if he was a moderator. Poachers making the best forest guards and all that [;)] so he's got my vote because my sneaky suspicion is that while he would faithfully do his best on the job he'd hate the fact that he wouldn't be able to play-out his usual antics. You'd be taking away his hobby and replacing it with a job.

I still veto your promotion. I do not believe he would change and his posts don't bother me anyway - I only see what people quote...so he doesn't annoy me nearly as much as he used to.

Rather than everyone jumping on the bandwagon and supporting his request as moderator in the wasted attempt to get him to change his posting ways, I suggest they just ignore him and live in eternal piece. That would also help me in the little bit of contact I do have with him.

Also, you are playing with fire, thinking it would change his ways. A leopard never changes it's spots.

Here is what I propose we do:

1.Post a forum moderator nomination thread in every forum section in order to get fair exposure and representation.
2.Compile that all and have an initial vote per forum section to determine their nominee.
3.Conduct rounds of votes to bring it down to just two people.
4.Have a final vote in the general forums sections to determine our recommendation to Matrix.
5.Ask Matrix if they are actually looking for a forum moderator and have them tell us no.
6.Go back to what we were doing before.

I like this plan.

Perhaps we should make like the ancient Athenians and annually hold a vote on whether to ostracize someone from the Matrix forum. If anyone gets more than 50%, he must leave the forum for ten years, though he does get to keep his property (i.e. games) and citizenship (i.e. login i.d. and password).

That coming from a guy I bought his game and praised so highly of it and their development group? Some loyalty there Gil R. well.....folks let me tell you the REALLLLLL truth about Forge of Freedom.....(to be continued)

Wow Vic haven't seen you around in a long time. How yah been? How's the wife and kids? Why did you get fired? Merry Christmas.

Oh, I'm still around.........I love reading threads like that Japanese one that was locked up. Funny stuff. [:D]

I'm good, busier than hell with stuff including running my sites. Actually play some wargames still........Advanced Tactics when I have time otherwise TF2 for stress relief.

I was let go over a purported info release regarding what eventually became COI here at Matrix. It was kind of related to the mini-CSO implosion. Anyways, it's a long time ago and long since forgotten. I keep watching for the upcoming releases here at Matrix and buy what I want. [:)]

Hope all ya fools keep the banter going.......after all these years it's the same issues over and over with the same users. Nothing changes. [:'(] [:D]

Lol Vic....I always enjoyed your confrontations ....ummm I mean conversations with Les the Sarge. Since he's gone I have to keep the hearts pumping and faces red.[:D] Someones gotta do it or this board would be boring as hell. I really think Erik should make me moderator for a week just to see what happens. I pomise I would be good and not ban anyone just because I didn't like them. (fingers crossed behind my back). Sorry to hear that about your accidental info leak. I've always felt Matrixgames folks go a bit overboard with all their secrecy and non divulging of information to consumers anyways. Can't even get them to tell us what their best selling game is and I don't see how in the world that would effect anything in their field if they did. Even Iain at Slitherene isn't afraid to divulge that information.
 
Also, what sites do you have up? Are they wargaming chat sites? Or buy my stuff sites?
