The version included in patch 3.2. ..etc is the latest.
Because several events concerning activation are set on variable turn range you may or may not be able to keep Warsaw.
That explains some variability then - thanks
I've ben slowly pushed out of it but IIRC I still hold at least 1 hex adjacent to it having stood on hte Vistula for several turns - Poles and some Germans in the middle, Germans to eth north and south - some Poles were slowly being slated among the German stacks to spread the support and casualties.
Tried the caps lock thing to speed Elmer up - it did, from a very long time to merely a long time per turn - also turned off combat reports for elmer's turns so I could go to the loo, watch some TV, go out for an evening, etc...[;)]

It only takes him about 15 min to finish a turn. He does spend a lot of time just thinking, doing nothing...

When I played the USSR, I once won by turn 40, and another time, I captured the Baltic Capitals Turn 30-something, and then half of all my forces were withdrawn, leaving gaping holes in the lines!
That was on the Alternative WW version, though.
Communist sympathisers!
Well... my scenario was very buggy. Also: never tested beyond about turn 20.

:O
How did you stop them from taking Warsaw...
Even if you pull back all the Poles there, it would be next to impossible.
...then I guess I did the impossible

Some poles delay, other regroup and wait for the nazis to show up...

I smashed every single Polish division east of Warsaw on the 1st turn...well, very nearly, at least. Elmer doesn't seem to like encircling my forces here. And I am slowly being pushed back, on T 16, or about, they made massive frontwide attacks that pushed me back in many places, although it was not unusual for one of these attacks to have resulted in the loss of at least a division or two (for Elmer).
