Allies Winter 41
Moved 2 infantry, 1 mil, 1 arty to South Africa in preparation for the march north. Nothing else of note so I'll add a little fun fact.

Axis Powers - Spr '41: We're back in action. Germany/Italy secure the Eastern Med with Turkey, Crete and Cyprus taken. An aerial skirmish is fought off the coast of France and 2 more transports are damaged by subs. In the face of stiffening resistance the raiders in Africa are pulled back. In China, a probing attack is conducted with heavy losses to both sides.

The British see Germany's long shot Sealion attempt and pull a few troops from South Africa and bring them back home. 3 new fighters give the RAF a nice numerical advantage should Germany wish to invade our skies. Since Germany can't clear out every interceptor this coming turn, Scotland looks safe from Para's for now. In Africa 2 of my infantry start their march north. I wish the force could be larger but the Sealion threat forced me to recall some of these troops.

Axis Powers - Sum '41: Our invasions plans have been twarted and so we spend the summer twiddling thumbs. Japan conducts another probing attack in China. The Chinese army is pretty weak at this point.

Germany bases more fighters in Western France to match the English force. As a consequence there are no German fighters on the Russian border. Perhaps Russia's fighters will be given a chance to escape Barbarossa. Sealion still looks unlikely because my infantry finally hit EV6 this turn. My HF's just upgraged to EV4 so hopefully this will help at Pearl, etc.
Russia has been garrisoning the rear regions to limit Germany's penetration, so Germany will have to go all or nothing in a few cases to have success. I also have been adding militia to Kiev which I rarely do, but given what I see in Rumania(no inf) I want to force some tanks to be used on Kiev.
This turn the resource shortage I was experiencing the last few turns is now over. Last turn I repaired all the US resources so that helped, and this turn the Jap gift run out. These two factors cured my shortage for now.

Axis Powers: Fall '41: Spain joins the Axis cause. Sealion forces are diverted to support the seizure of Gibraltar. Norway is also brought into the fold. Japan moves inland to Changsha to offset the loss of allied resources.

Have the rules changed about para range in this mod? I don't get it.

Allies Fall 41
Spain joins with the Axis powers. Grr.. now the Med is closed and I have to deal with the Italian navy having access to the Atlantic.
England has 10 fighters at 6/6 range 1 and Germany has 7 fighters at 6/6 range 2 and 2 tac-air in Western France plus 2 HB's in Eastern France. I decided to finish a HF I had on hold for a while and a tranny. The CV and CAG I have on hold are just to valuable to let out of the gate just yet.
No action on my part other than driving a U-boat deep.
Russia continues its defense in depth.

Axis Powers- Win '42: 10 Fighters in England is too much for the Luftwaffe. The 3 turn build doesn't appear to be slowing down the UK. Everything is redeployed to the East. Purely a defensive move against Russian aggression. Another Chinese resource province is captured.

I'd say that England is handicapped less by the 3-turn-fighters than Germany because the more important constraint for England in the early war is manpower, not production. For Germany on the other hand, it is production and thus the effect is probably bigger.

I agree completely, right now I'm forced to chose between keeping up with the RAF and being ready for Russia forcing me to bloody my fist against it's nose. That is probably about right. Perhaps if Norway and/or Denmark would contribute a point or 2 of manpower to Germany it could offset. Right now I've been very fortunate to have Spain join and I still feel a little behind.

It looks like a Spring 42 Barbarossa. With the way to the Black Sea open, I expect amphib attempts with para support. Do I have enough to hold?

Axis Powers - Spr '42: Barabrosa comes off with a whimper. My goal was to encircle eastern Poland this game. Didn't work. Instead we settle for a head on blood bath and get it.
In the Pacific I learn about the new rule allowing the WA to Strat move the hard way. 2 Fighters sitting in PH so we call off the air raid.
There weren't any attrition attacks on the RAF because Gernmany was never in a position to do more damage than it received. Maybe my fault. Maybe not.

Russia's defense in depth paid off. Only 1 factory captured. 2 move to the Urals. Curiously I lose 2 Russian tac-air to AA from an infantry and a tank. Otherwise combat went as expected.
The WA's go sub hunting this turn. The Japs suffer 1 destroyed and 1 damaged. The German's suffer 2 damaged, one being elite. Kind of pay back for the 2 LF's that got hit this turn. In two attacks where Germany used 2 U-boats against 2 LF and transport combos he got lucky with his subs in both cases. In previous turns that happened a few times too. But now the US is in the war and the seas are now swarming with LF's.
Japan has a slow start. PH gets called off. The LF's from PH were used to go sub hunting with success as previously mentioned. My fleet at PH is looking strong.
Large resource shortfall this turn. Working to correct.

Russia reinforces Moscow and moves the newly mobilized militia to key defensive positions. No factory's moved this turn. Was a tough call to make. Decided to let them be carrots.
In Portugal the WA land with enough force to hold until Germany moves significant forces to Spain.
No action in Pacific.

Axis Powers - Fall '42: Ok, I got busy with a new job, but I'm back in business. Not much I could do about Portugal other than welcome my new neighbors. Two big battles in Russia, both 50% chances both yield heavy casualties. Japan Seizes the undefended Russian Far East.
