You can try and find the MSFlxgrd.ocx on the internet and install/register it. Otherwise, I am somewhat close to finishing the newest version of the DB Editor which does not require any dependency on the MSFlxgrd anymore. The target date of this weekend will not happen, though because I am adding flooring to my bathroom this weekend and doing some other repairs.

I know, it was a tough decision. Seriously... it was. at the last minute my wife and I (more my wife than me...)decided to tear out the floor in our bathroom and decided that this weekend we were fixing it. And I was like "but... my program... and... what about Maximum Football...?!"

Well, as much as I like this game and programming... I really do like my wife [;)] .

But, the good news is that I think I found a way to make my life easier with the programming while not getting so confused with all my code. The bad news means I have to re-work a little of the stuff I just re-worked... argh...

Ok. I'll give that a try. Thanks.

I like my wife too, so I'll let this one pass. [:)]

Actually, we'll take it when you get it done.  Real life come first.

When installing I am getting:

Error 1904 Module C:\Windows\system32\maxfbtranspicture.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -2147024770.

Any ideas? The software does not work because of it.

Yes, sadly I made the mistake of upgrading to vista (I fly a lot of FSX and wanted the kick ass graphics)

The nice thing is that my version I am currently working on (yes, I know... I've been working on it FOREVER...) will not require external controls like that. This is will make it slightly more vista compatable.

Question for JD regarding the import/export feature:  I just imported an edited roster back into the original and it has caused there to be quotation marks (" ") around the data in each field.  Has anyone else noticed this issue and is there something I can do to prevent that from happening?

(on edit) I should add that I'm using OpenOffice as opposed to Excel. Could that be the reason?

Thanks!

On suggestion I have posted this here.

Maybe you could check my post below in topic "nfl player file"

Thanks Elmerlee. I will read through that and post my response in that thread. I went back and used Excel on another computer and I'm still having the problem with the " " marks around the player names once it is imported back into the database.

Sorry if I confused you leeman67 as my post was meant for jdhalfrack.

It looks to me like his near involment of working with this editor is not promising. Don't hear much about update or problem solving but can't complain since he did some nice work as far as it went.

Yes, no biggie.  I will go ahead and manually edit, which won't be that difficult because at least I have the base names in the roster file.  What I'm doing is taking a 1976 NFL season file from Madden '04 (created by "Muscle Mike" from the FootballFreaks.com forum) and transferring it to MaxFB.  I have transferred the ratings and am now just adjusting jersey numbers, depth charts, etc.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It's just been a very interesting past month... I really AM close to finishing this latest release I've been working on. It really is a "step backwards," but the coding is much more stable. So, after I release it, updating it should be much easier. I'll check out your other posts here and see what I can fix/do.

Just run the installer and you should be good to go. There will then be a shortcut and just click on it and it will load. If you have a Vista then there are some files you need to download. I hope this helps.

I keep getting this message run-time error 3265: Item not found in the collection.
What does it mean and what should I do?
