Forgot to take pics this turn.. USSR/USA airforce in Irkuts is thrown upon poor 104th Division again.. And it looks like PH is LRCAPing my units there, but I don´t understand why.. And my recon spotten NO CAP over Irkutsk??? 200 fighters are over my 13th TK rgt and remaining planes attacked my division.. [&:] Let´s see what will happen in following days:

Ulan-Ude is 75% towards lvl 6. I think it will be finished in two days and then I will move there 200-300 bombers and another 90 fighters (225 is already there). I will get there also 72 Ki-43-II, but don´t expect much of them. I just hope they will die instead of my 1st line fighters. They don´t know it yet, so don´t tell them..
BTW I have 11000 AV in Ulan-Ude [:)]

Mashalls and Gilberts situation:
This theater is relatively weak in air force (especialy bombers), but can be quickly reinforced by air units from Solomons and NG. I feel pretty confident in Gilberts. Fort 9, 4000 mines per island and good number od fighters. Only Baker Island is in range of P-38 and it is only Lvl4 AF (max 200 planes). He can send 4E from Tuvalu Islands, but without fighter escort, they would be massacred by Tojos and Tonys.
Weak spot is Makin with only 1 BF and 1 contruction battalion. I would like to reinforce them, but I´m little bit short of LCU at this moment.
Marshalls are scary. Only about 200AV per island, nearly no airforce, no reserves.. Only Majuro is defended by A regiment of 21st Division, but all other places are guarded only by mix of BFs and NavGuards lacking heavy weapons. Newly formed 1st Amphibious Brigade is already en route towards Kwajalein, so we will have at least some kind of reserve. Soon I will release a division from China and will divide its A/B/C regiments between Wotje, Maloelap and Majuro. A regiment of 21st division from Majuro will be moved to Makin.
Navy is represented by 6th fleet with HQ at Kwajalein. Main part is anchored there. It consists of 1 BB (Nagato), 3 CA (Kumano, Suzuya and Haguro) and 5 DDs. There is also CVE Hosho stripped from airplanes. It will be probably used as a faint..
Besides that I have another surface TF at Tarawa: 2 CA (Chikuma, Nachi), 2 CL (Abukuma and Tenryu) and 7 DDs to conduct raids at his front bases..

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/16/43
I have tried to sneak an AK loaded with 47mm guns to Thursday Is. Maizuru SNLF was transported by planes, but guns are too heavy. Near Gili Gili the ship meets its destiny. No guns for Maizuru marines. They will have to make their own from palm trees and other stuff growing in jungle [;)] They have already made one..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub attack at 54,94
Japanese Ships
AK Ganges Maru, Shell hits 2, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
Allied Ships
SS Saury
Japanese ground losses:
28 casualties reported
Guns lost 4
Enemy armored unit north of Lahore is retreating back to Karachi. I think this place is safe now. SNLF is on the place and base is well fortified. B regiment of 21st mixed bde is released from its boring duty and will be moved to south to its garrison duty (which will be boring even more). During the first Blackdogs atempt to break through Ahmadabad I have stripped whole India from the garrisons and since that time these units were in the first line. 2 more divisions meanwhile reinforced the area and so I can pull some forces back where they belongs. 21st brigade will be divided between Madras and Panaji. Both regiments are 100% prepared for these places. PH has nearly no ships in Karachi so the invasion behind my lines is not actual for now, but he has asked me to allow the sub commandos (I don´t like it but agreed to give it some time to see how serious PITA they will be) and therefore I have to garrison all coastal cities.. [:@] I will have to move more Base forces to India to take care of it, but it will take some time and meanwhile I have to use real combat units. I have 2-3 mixed rgts in Rangoon (with av 100 each) and these would be perfect for it.. Crap. That is one of the reason I don´t like the sub invasions. Now I will have another units tied up to coastal defence.. And there is so many more unguarded bases in SRA.. Java and Sumatra have to be managed in similar fashion. Units are there, but only at the main bases. It is luck that it is REINFORCEMENTS PERIOD and every day new unit is formed..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on 3rd Carabineers Regiment, at 26,3
Japanese aircraft
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 29
No Japanese losses
West of Noumea I have chain of subs. Finally they found some victim..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub attack at 60,114
Japanese Ships
SS I-7
Allied Ships
AK Fomalhaut, Shell hits 4, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
Allied ground losses:
130 casualties reported
Otherwise not much to say. Ulan-Ude is 86% to Lvl6 and I´m mentaly preparing myself for huge losses I will suffer trying to close Irkutsk.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/17/43
My subs west of Noumea are shadowing his convoy heading to Brisbane. There is several allied TFs spotted so I hope in a few more hits. Tonight it was me, who got hit..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASW attack at 59,114
Japanese Ships
SS I-171, hits 2
Allied Ships
AK Regulus
AK Barbara Olson
AK Harpoon
AP Henry T. Allen
DD Litchfield
Poor 104th division was hit hard again. But the truth is that I´m 100% satisfied with that. I rather see 500 bombers attacking single division than closing my airfield. That was a big mistake of PH. He had 5 days of free bombing and with this huge bomber force he could shut my AF down while it was still Lvl3. Or maybe he wants me to lure into attritional battle over his base? It might be so..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on 104th Division, at 59,7
Allied aircraft
B-24D Liberator x 65
LaGG-3 x 48
IL-2 Shturmovik x 215
SB-2 x 138
Pe-2 x 61
Pe-2R x 3
Allied aircraft losses
IL-2 Shturmovik: 1 damaged
Japanese ground losses:
577 casualties reported
Guns lost 14
Well, with Ulan-Ude Lvl6 I have moved there all prepared fighter and bomber units. Tommorrow will be an "Adlertag" if the weather will allow it.
350 fighters (20%CAP) and 288 bombers will try to shut down his base. I wonder how many of them will fly.. All fighters are set to sweep except one sentai of Ki-43-II which is set to escort. The scary scenario is that sweep mission will be canceled and bomber mission will go in on its own with only those pathetic "Oscars". PH has about 300 fighters on CAP and that would be total massacre of my bomber force.
No matter if I win or loose tommorrow it will be a sloughter. A base against base, last men standing wins. As I have mailed to PH:"I can just hope, that last plane flying will be mine" [;)]
Huge losses are expected. I would be happy if 200 fighters will fly with 150 bombers, but we shall see. I´m taking the risk with overstacking. I could blame only myself if anything goes wrong. But I have no other possibility than to accept such risk and put so many of my precious pilots into the harms way.
Above all, more russian units left the base. I´m sure he wants to jump into my supply path, but it´s not going to work. I will despatch two more TK rgts to block his units.
And today, joined China/Kwantung Army in strenght of 11000AV has started its march towards Irkutsk..
PH ordered to all surrounded Chinese units to attack. That is very dangerous, because I would loose my training camps and he would get them in 30 days in Karachi and Irkutsk. Those poor guys are melting like an ice in desert.. Soon there will be noone left..

Operation Adlertag
Target: shutting down the enemy base of Irkutsk
Units: 2nd Air Divison
Navy contingent (mostly fighters)
Oposition: HEAVY. Aproximately 500 fighters and 600 bombers including contingent of USAAF (P-38G, B-24D)
Composition of 2nd Air Division
BOMBER WING:
5 sentai of Ki-21 Sally (144 planes)
5 sentai of Ki-49 Helen (144 planes)
FIGHTER WING:
4 sentai of Ki-44-II Tojo (108 planes)
3 chutai of Ki-44-II Tojo (36 planes)
1 sentai of Ki-61 Tony (36 planes)
2 sentai of Ki-43-II Oscar (72 planes)
Composition of Navy Contingent
FIGHTER WING:
5 daitai J2M Jack (135 planes)
1 daitai A6M3 (27 planes)
BOMBER WING:
4 daitai G4M/G3M (108 planes)
Only 1 Ki-43-II sentai, 1 A6M3 daitai and 4 G3M/G4M daitai will be left behind during the first raid. All other units are moved to Ulan-Ude and will try to break the defence of Irkutsk base. Unfortunately we have to defend our own base so 20% of fighters will fly CAP. This is significant amount and those fighters will be desperately needed in battle, but we can not be sure that enemy will not strike our base at the same moment we strike his. And the fact that our planes can not take off because of weather doesn´t mean the base can not be bombed to dust. We can not risk that 600 planes of 2nd Air Division will be cought on ground by 500 enemy bombers WITHOUT CAP and so 20% of availible fighters will be left behind to defend their home base..

A bloody day.. Air battles raged from India to USSR as Panzejaeger tried to attack our "Panzer armee" near Ahmadabad. Leaking CAP caused heavy losses to attackers.. About 50 Liberators were shot down together with some Wellingtons etc..
Main event of the day was an air battle over Irkutsk. True bloodbath for both sides, but "the last plane flying" was mine. More then 350 russian planes were shot down, 100 torched on the ground.. Japanese losses are also heavy, More then 100 brave imperial eagles died for the Emperor.. But total score of the day is encouraging: 150 japanese planes vs 550 allied planes and we still have enough planes to repeat the attack next day! Banzai!
Details will follow tommorrow. Too tired today.. [;)]

Near Ahmadabad our PGI ("Panzer" Groupe India) were atacked by 3 waves of RAF/USAAF bombers from Karachi.. First raid came unoposed as we rally only on "leaking CAP" and there was none this time:

But it wasn´t so easy for the second wave. My fighter wings in Ahmadabad were already alerted and they despatched 45 fighters to defend our tankists. Bombers came unescorted in 6000ft (I have to ask PH to check their altitude as we have HR no 4E bellow 10000 ft) and suffered heavily:

"Adlertag" DAY 1 summary:
The first day of operation "Adlertag" went better than I have expected. The weather was good above our base and all launched planes found their target. And the best thing was, that Irkutsk itself was clauded, so all his bombers stayed home and were just "sitting ducks". Also our strike was "larger" than we could hope. 255 fighters and 248 bombers! When you consider that I had 345 operational fighters with 20% CAP and 278 operational bombers it is a small miracle. It means 92% of availible fighters and 89% bombers took off!!! From base Lvl 6 overstacked by 100%..
They met really strong oposition of 356 enemy fighters, including some P-38G. All my fighters were set to sweep and only Oscar II were escorting bombers. One Ki-44-II sentai (with the lowest xp) were set to 5000ft and all others to 20000ft and I hoped I could "bounce" him when his planes will be drawn to low level... It didn´t help at all (probably) as I have seen only "bounce" after "bounce" after "bounce" of MY fighters..
During the bloody battle my brave eagles managed to shoot down 137 LaGG-3, 89 MiG-3, 43 Yak-1, 33 I-16 and 27 P-38G and succesfully protected the bombers as only single Ki-49 was shot down by russian fighter.. And it means that 247 bombers attacked Irkutsk airfield filled with many planes. Results were good. On the ground were destroyed: 42 LaGG-3, 14 MiG-3, 5 Yak-1, 3 P-38G and 11 I-16. So far it is satisfying. But except the fighters, there were also hundreds of bombers and these have suffered only "minor" losses: 32 SB-2, 26 Il-2 and 12 Pe-2. It is surprisingly low number considering the fact there was probably more then 500 of them sitting on the runway.. [;)]
And here are the results of my fighters:
F1/Yamada (J2M Jack) lost 12 planes and 11 pilots. Shot down 25 enemies
F2/Yamada (J2M Jack) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 7 enemies
F1/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 5 planes and 4 pilots. Shot down 42 enemies
F2/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 4 planes and 4 pilots. Shot down 46 enemies
F3/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 5 planes and 4 pilots. Shot down 19 enemies
63rd Sentai (Ki-43-II Oscar) lost 22 planes and 20 pilots. Shot down 12 enemies
65th Sentai (Ki-61 Tony) lost 3 planes and 1 pilot. Shot down 11 enemies
85th Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 20 planes and 16 pilots. Shot down 15 enemies (this unit was set on 5k ft)
68th Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 14 planes and 12 pilots. Shot down 75 enemies
203rd Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 16 planes and 11 pilots. Shot down 45 enemies
F2/24th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 7 planes and 6 pilots. Shot down 9 enemies
F2/64th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 13 enemies
F2/54th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 6 planes and 4 pilots. Shot down 10 enemies
I will continue with offensive next day. His defensive abilities were significantly lowered. 27 fresh A6M3 were brough from the rear together with 36 Ki-21 and 27 Ki-49. Many survived bombers and fighters were damaged but I should be able to send about 150 fighters and 250 bombers again. He has probably full pool of reinforcement planes, but they won´t be operational for a while. Now is the best time to finish him.. Let´s hope the weather will be on our side again..

Another good day for empire..
AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/19/43
The sub war continues another day. Allied convoys heading to Brisbane were hit again. This time we get the "golden ship" with 24 F4U-1 Corsairs on board. All went down with ship:
Sub attack at 60,114
Japanese Ships
SS I-35
Allied Ships
AK Lewis Luckenbach, Torpedo hits 3, on fire, heavy damage
DD Brooks
Our subs then managed to fire torps also at AVD and AP U.S. Grant, but in both cases torps missed.. I-9 managed to get LCT in Noumea harbor. The submarine attacked on the surface using the deck gun only. 8 hits send the LCT to the bottom..
Our subs are attacking allied transports between Brisbane and Noumea for the 4th day in a row and they are running low on torps and fuel. Soon they will have to return to Rabaul to replenish. New wolfpack of 3 I-boats left Rabaul today to take their place..
Russian airforce was send to attack Ulan-Ude finally. Too late and too few.. We had just a small CAP, but it was enought to cause a huge losses to bombers lacking any escort. Remaining bombers were so disrupted, that the base was only lightly damaged and no plane was hit on the ground
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on Ulan-Ude , at 61,10
Japanese aircraft
A6M3 Zero x 6
J2M Jack x 15
Ki-43-IIa Oscar x 2
Ki-44-IIb Tojo x 12
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 3
Allied aircraft
SB-2 x 83
Pe-2 x 31
Pe-2R x 6
R-12 x 13
Japanese aircraft losses
A6M3 Zero: 4 damaged
J2M Jack: 4 damaged
Ki-44-IIb Tojo: 3 damaged
Ki-61 KAIc Tony: 1 damaged
Allied aircraft losses
SB-2: 47 destroyed
Pe-2: 12 destroyed, 6 damaged
R-12: 3 destroyed
Japanese ground losses:
225 casualties reported
Guns lost 5
Runway hits 3
Then came the second Russian bomber raid. This time against one of our tank rgts near Irkutsk. I don´t understand why. If those 116 Il-2 have attacked our base together with previous strike, my CAP would have much more troubles. Il-2 are not as "easy kills" as SB-2 and Pe-2.. Instead of hitting my air base with all his forces from the day one, he waited too long and even now attacked with only half of his bombers. The secon half managed to hurt 150 men and damage a few tanks of 10th Tank regiment.. If he prefere to attack unimportant unit instead of important base, I will take it every day..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on 10th Tank Regiment, at 59,7
Allied aircraft
I-16 Type 24 x 11
MiG-3 x 19
LaGG-3 x 39

Pe-2R x 1
Allied aircraft losses
IL-2 Shturmovik: 15 damaged
Japanese ground losses:
168 casualties reported
Guns lost 2
Vehicles lost 10
2nd day of Irkutsk battle - I will commnet this strike again in separate post (total losses are something like 50:350 in japanese favour).. BANZAI!

In China the last chinese unit in Yenen impaled itself against our defensive line and was destroyed by attrition latter on.. Yenen is fully operational again. Its HI and Resource centers (not producing anything so far with enemy LCU in the hex) are welcomed boost, but all planes had to be transfered to another training camp. I hope he will soon run out of combat squads. With AV 0 he can not order his units to attack then.. If not, I won´t be able to train my AF from the second half of 43´. An interesting situation..
A few units have been formed in Tokyo. 1 division is transported to Iwo Jima, 2 small mixed Bdes (99 AV each) are heading to Marcus. 1st Amphib bde arrived at Kwajalein. Another division is being loaded in Kagoshima and will go to India, as I have all units on front lines and no reserves availible there (Madras or Culcutta area). 51st mixed Bde is now marching to Tokyo and then will be transported to Pagan. I will get one more division in about 5 days. It will be either transported to Java where will be attached to 25t Army or to Darwin. I would like to have some kind of "counterforce" of 1000AV in Darwin, which could be thrown against any attempt to capture Thursday Is or Merauke..
Besides that - all quite.. [;)]

"Adlertag" DAY 2 summary:
The second day of operation "Adlertag" saw another japanese victory. The weather was good and 2nd Air Division managed to launch another formidable strike: 198 fighters and 290 bombers. All planes succesfully found their target and this time enemy CAP was significantly less numerous. Only 85 fighters raised to meet our imperial eagles.. They were outnumbered by better pilots and it could have only one result - no chance to stop aproaching bombers.. In another furious battle japanese fighters shot down 20 MiG-3, 24 LaGG-3, 8 Yak-1 and 1 I-16 (at a cost of 24 planes) before remaining russians break the contact and disappeared. Nearly 300 Ki-21 and Ki-49 then hit the last russian airfield very hard, destroying on the ground another 21 MiG-3, 7 LaGG-3, 26 I-16, 4 Yak-1 and 3 P-38G. Also the bomber units were hit: 39 Il-2, 16 SB-2, 5 Pe-2 and some recon planes were torched on the ground. Together with the disastrous bomber raid against Ulan-Ule, USSR lost 281 planes today..
And here are the results once more (including results from air battle over Ulan-Ude):
F1/Yamada (J2M Jack) lost 0 planes and 0 pilots. Shot down 1 enemy
F2/Yamada (J2M Jack) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 12 enemies
F1/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 0 planes and 0 pilots. Shot down 4 enemies
F2/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 12 enemies
F3/Ominato (J2M Jack) lost 0 planes and 0 pilots. Shot down 17 enemies
63rd Sentai (Ki-43-II Oscar) lost 5 planes and 5 pilots. Shot down 3 enemies
65th Sentai (Ki-61 Tony) lost 2 planes and 2 pilots. Shot down 19 enemies
85th Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 4 planes and 4 pilots. Shot down 4 enemies (this unit was set on 5k ft)
68th Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 0 planes and 0 pilots. Shot down 15 enemies
203rd Sentai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 0 planes and 0 pilots. Shot down 9 enemies
F2/24th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 3 planes and 3 pilots. Shot down 6 enemies
F2/64th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 5 planes and 5 pilots. Shot down 6 enemies
F2/54th Chutai (Ki-44-II Tojo) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 8 enemies
F2/1st Daitai (A6M3 Zero) lost 1 plane and 1 pilot. Shot down 12 enemies

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/20/43
Bad weather in USSR prevented another strike against Irkutsk. This is not good. It will costs me more pilots, as his fighters will get time to repair damaged aircraft. I would rather destroy them on the ground without risk to my precious fighter pilots. Now I will have to break them once more. But not today.. Meanwhile the 11000 AV juggernaut is aproaching Irkutsk. 2-3 more days..
Happy days of our submarines between Noumea and Brisbane continues as two more ships were hit today. And one AK, damaged yesterday, is confirmed sunk - with part of Americal division aboard.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub attack at 50,114
Japanese Ships
SS I-175, hits 5, on fire - sys 13, flt 61. out of torps now and heading to Rabaul. I think she might make it..
Allied Ships
AK Empire Bruce, Torpedo hits 1
AK Red Jacket
DD Litchfield
Allied ground losses:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sub attack at 56,114
Japanese Ships
SS I-35 - also out of torps now and heading to Rabaul to rearm.

DD Preston
Allied ground losses:
29 casualties reported
I have waited with despatching of new wolfpack of I-boats (3) from Rabaul too long so the number of operative I-boats between Noumea and Brisbane is slowly decreasing. My fault.. And I´m afraid that soon these waters will be swept by allied ASW.
On the other side it is rare to spot allied sub so far. From time to time some are spotted, but they are usually only passing by, heading to somewhere.. There is one sub parked in Bombay harbor and another one in Truk harbor. It seems Panzerjaeger likes to place his subs exactly into to the harbors. It makes them safe from ASW, as I have never seen ASW TF to attack sub in harbor unless the ASW TF was attacked itself, but makes them vulnarable from air. I have moved some crack LBA to both places, so let´s see if I can get rid of them.
I wonder what he is planning. Still thinking about his next move. Except the obvious possibilities (advance in India and/or Australia) he will probably try to pull something sneaky from his sleeve. But where?
Gilberts/Marshall - unlikely. It requests strong CV tf to cover and he has none
Solomons - he has no footstep there and making one requests strong CV tf to cover - and he has none.
Wake/Marcus - the same. A lot of preinvasion "preparation" in needed and not enough CVs availible
NG - Yes, this is a "weak spot". He could close all my AF around PM by his 4E from Australia, land at PM, Gili Gili and any of those 3 small islands near GG and unload enough men before my reaction force arrives. But PM and GG are well defended by 1 division each. What seems as a most dangerous for me now in this area, is his attack on Thursday Is and Merauke. These bases were not defended about week ago at all. No mines, no forts and only 1 SNLF. With these two bases in his hands he could threaten an enourmous number of bases with paras..
Java/Sumatra - yes, he could try to land here with troops from Perth, but I have subs and AVs on guard so I hope to spot any enemy TF in advance. And it should mean he would be forced to cancel such operation. Surprise would be 75% of success in such operation.. And I have 1 division and 1 brigade in Java. I don´t think he will try.
Ceylon/India - the same with Java/Sumatra. He could land here, but there are nearly no ships in Karachi and so all such effort would have to come from Perth. And it is a loooong ways throught waters covered by subs and AV. All those glenn-equiped subs and AVs are worth of a few divisons in these areas. This is the least probable attack IMO. If he will try it and will avoid to be spotted, he will succeed, because I have nearly nothing in southern India. A few BF and 21st mixed Bde divided between Madras and Panaji (and these are still on the way). In about 1 month I will ship another division to India. I might place it to Madras to have at least some kind of reserve there, but currently I don´t think I will do it. The more probable I will send it to Delphi..
Kuriles - the shortest path to Japan. Paramushiro and Omnetokan are defended by Ind Bde each and another bde is on those 0/0 islands. Mines, Lvl 9 forts and mountain terrain in northern weather makes them really tough nut to crack. I feel safe here..
So, all in all my favourite is attack on Thursday and Merauke. It is nearest, easiest and most dangerous considering it opens so many future possibilities.. But what to do with it?

BTW all those transports shifting units to Brisbane also leads me to believe the next attack will be towards Gili-Gili (or better towards those 3 islands: Kiriwina, Goodenough and "whateveritsnameis") or Thursday/Merauke. 1st.Amph HQ, Americal div, F4U Corsairs.. All these units are confirmed heading to Brisbane. If I were at his place I would go for Thursday Is and Merauke..
Anyone has another idea? Where else could he attack? Am I missing some danger? What would you do if you were in his shoes?

After this strike I consider operation "Adlertag" as finished. Another 250 planes was destroyed today, mostly on the ground. Irkuts is not 100% closed yet, but USSR airforce has been crippled and the last russian base doesn´t posses any threat anymore. It was costly but neccessary. 11000 AV should enter the base next day. Soon we will see what we are facing there.
No sub attack today..[:(] Instead the hunter became hunted:

Well, so far no turn today, so I got some tine for anoteh "theatre summary". This time it is
Northern area..
As you can see on the picture, the Petropavlosk and Kuriles chain are guarded by 4 Independent Bdes. I will add one or two more asap as I don´t like two bases are totaly unguarded and I don´t have any reserves..
The main base is Shikka with 3 AR ships, MLE, AS and 5th fleet HQ. The 5th fleet consist only from CL Jintsu and 6 DDs, but all of them are in Japan now.
Mines and forts will help a lot in case of any enemy offensive, but my best friend here is the weather. In a few months the winter season will start and then it is really hard to land troops in some decent shape on the enemy base.. As I have posted already - I feel safe here..[;)]

Allied ASW is deadly. This sub followed one of the Panzerjaegers convoys to Brisbane´s Harbor in hope of one more kill. Not a good idea..
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And Irkustk is hit hard again. Another 130 planes is destroyed and Irkutsk is closed for now. But with about 60 enemy units it can be repaired really quickly..

Russian fighters started to use very dangerous tactic again (I have already seen it during the air battles over Iman). With the help of radar, they bounce my fighters, but with a poor morale they bug out in a minute they start to be on receiving end. The results are, that russian fightesr inflict maximum damage and disappear before they are shot down themselves..
The oposition is not strong anymore so I have pulled out all fighters except J2M Jack. 5 daitai with 50% CAP will keep providing close escort to my bomber wings.
My search planes spotted a few AKs near Luganville, so I have despatched the raiding force from Lunga. Unfortunately have been spotted (and attacked), so it is time to turn back. I´m sure there is nothing except PTs and mines now..--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Day Air attack on TF at 69,101
Allied aircraft
Hudson I x 7
Allied aircraft losses
Hudson I: 2 damaged
Japanese Ships
CA Mogami
CL Yubari
Solomons and NG will certainly see some action soon. Allies are gathering their forces in East Australia! Not many ships so far (only 50 ships apotted in Brisbane harbor), but the air balance numbers in Brisbane, Townsville, Charters Towers, Cairns and Cooktown are growing and are over 4000 for every base now! Today also more then 20 subs in 2 TF were spotted passing between Rabaul and Green Is towards east coast of Australia.
I´m slowly reinforcing this area, scratching forces everywhere. Fortunately situation in USSR allowed me to pull out 36 Ki-44-II, 27 A6M3, 27 J2M and 36 G4M1. They will soon arrive at Truk. I have convinced myself that his main attack will come here. Gili-Gili area or Thursdays Is. As a responce I will move KB to Darwin or Rabaul. I´m still undecided.

Hmm.. Mo matter how badly damaged the runway is, russian fighters are always in the air.. Today they killed 4 of my crack pilots, but lost 20 of their numbers too (and 60 on the ground). And the army still not arrived in Irkutsk. Up to now they moved 1 hex per day, but now, when it is time to enter Irkuts, they are marchind only 25miles per day.. [:@]
Besides the above bomber raid, nothing else happened. Oh, wait.. It is not true.. The IJN sortied! KB with heavy hitters Yamato and Musashi are heading to Darwin. I have still a few days to change mind and send them to Rabaul, but I think Darwin will serve well. I don´t think he would expect KB from THIS direction.. And KB is formidable force. 900 planes and another 150 can be placed on CVEs.. That makes about 1000-1050 planes in total. I´m short of escort DDs so I have to make some shifting all around the map. As escorts I will use mainly Mutsuki/Hatsuharu and Kamikaze class but have to gather about 12 of them yet..

Another day over Irkutsk. And another 80 russian planes destroyed. And another 6 crack pilots lost. And again the airfield is operational. And will be operational tommorow too. Again.. [:(]
BUT my army reached Irkutsk finaly. 9800 AV. And another 1500 AV is on the way yet. All units received orders to bombard enemy positions to cover the attack of our 12 eng regiments. Tommorrow we shall see what we are facing and if out combat engineers will be able to knock down the forts. Fingers crossed..
