So you can edit any factor on any unit in the game then?

Good Hunting.

MR

Yes

Why did you decide to allow that?

Good Hunting.

I think there are two approaches here.

One is to shut up shop. Don't allow any additions/modifications of models, unit data, other game data, etc.

This helps but doesn't totally prevent PBEM cheating.

The other approach is to allow the player freedom in adding to or modifying their game as they see fit.

Of course this opens up easy opportunities for PBEM cheating, but then who are you likely to be playing against anyway?

Both systems have their pros and cons. PCOWS has always been open from day 1, it just wasn't always easy to get to the data to edit it.

Mad Russian,

It's always been an open system - that's one of the features. Before we added this into an easy interface, you could still go into the text files yourself with a text editor.

With that said, if your concern is PBEM related, there is still some security in place. And if one player modifies his units so that they are different from that of his opponent, the first time the difference comes to light (i.e. when a gun is fired or an armor location hit) the PBEM game will refuse to continue, so cheating is somewhat self-limiting.

- Erik

I'll discuss my concerns with you in private after you have the launch of PCK out of the way. [&o]

Then you'll have time to discuss things. [8D]

Good Hunting.

Here is an image of the setup zone editor for use when making your own setup zones either for the RBG or if you want something specific for the design of a new random campaign "script".

A library of setup zones comes with the game, but you can add your own.
