I would expect some added traffic here, gentlemen...

Be prepared for visitors looking a replacement for Madden and also for the visitor looking for what Maximum Football is not (the glitz, the flash, the glamour, etc.).

We have a terrific little gem here in Maximum Football (with a great developer to boot) that I know most of you really appreciate, but the game many not appeal to the typical mass market Madden consumer swoon by graphics or those looking for GM features not yet in the game...

Some people just don't get it. Graphics aren't everything. Maximum Football is the best sports game I have ever played. I know witth this game David Winter is not going to charge for meaningless updates(like an other game). Redwolf, did I missread your link or did it say it would ship a limited number Maddens for the PC.

"We knew that our decision to not develop this year’s Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision in some circles. But I’ll reiterate what I said a couple of weeks ago in this space…the PC presents some very serious business challenges to us in the sports category, particularly because so many of you all are playing your favorite sports games on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. We are committed to shipping a limited number of our games on the PC this year, but we’ve also had to cut a few of our games from the platform. We do have ideas for how to revitalize the PC for sports games and the types of games that are best suited to the platform, and we’ll continue to explore those."

I ran this through the Bullshit Filter and this is what it spit out:

"We decided to stop making sports games on the PC because the customers were making mods for the game in 1 or 2 months that were way better than what took us 8 or 9 months to release. Since we can't have customers making our products look inferior, we decided to do what any coward would do and just quit."

I really do hope this brings Maximum Football a lot of new traffic and sales, though.

ALL GAMES...are best suited to the PC. I have a keyboard/Mouse, Gravis Eliminator gamepad, and a Steering wheel for racing.
I have a decent video card, processor and memory...bring it!

I put it through a BS filter with a finer sieve, and look what came out:

"We knew that our decision to not develop this year’s Madden for the PC would be an unpopular decision with informed customers. But I’ll reiterate what I said a couple of weeks ago in this space… the PC presents some very serious business challenges to us in the sports category, particularly because so many of you are smart enough to know that we have only presented you with inferior or retread products over the past few years that didn't take advantage of the platform strengths in almost any way. We have been committed to shipping only these inferior ports with degraded features to the PC. We do have ideas how to extract cash from PC sports gamers in the future with our exclusive league contracts, and we’ll continue to explore those."

Well, at least he was honest. [:)]
