Were the bomber raids you intercepted deep penetrations or relatively shallow.

In BTR as the Axis I find that with my initial interceptions of USAAF heavies (and mediums for that matter) I'm lucky to get 1:1 kill ratio (irrespective of escort interference) but as the raids progress the combat boxes start to lose cohesion and my subsequent attacks become more successful.

Obviously in BoB the Lw bomber defensive fire isn't as heavy as B-17/B-24 defensive fire but neither is the intercepting fighter firepower.

Both Shaggy.

It's something HS also thinks on - RAF fighter attacks against LW bombers are a bit too anaemic as is. Looking at history the losses should not be roughly 1:1.

Overall the 3rd day of the campaign was good for the RAF in theair. Vectoiring to raidshas been good and the Spitfires did partcularly well today in shooting down 109's - 25 shot down[:)]

The other good news is that HS's high bombing caused little damage to PRI AF's Middle Wallop, Kenley, North Weald and Northolt today. All are still operational[:)] St. Eval was knocked out though.

The bad news is that HS has taken out all CH RADAR on the South Coast. I'm now blind to incoming raids and will have to rely on radio intercepts (use this as an indicator anyway) and coastwatchers........

Here is the start of a heavy day with raids heading for St. Eval and Kenley. Full reaction is offered against these raids since as you can see little else is coming in at present.......

Later on in the day (HS spaced his raids out quiite a bit which has advtantages in tiring my boys but disadvantages in that it allows me to focus on each raid segment as I choose) Italians joined in with riads against Bromley Radar. They suffered heavily with the loss of 11 x G.50 and 5 x BR20. In return 2 x Hurricane were shot down.
