I vote Dairy for the Netherlands, as Livestock suggests cattle reared for slaughter ... and Cattle or Beef for Calgary.
Dairy ? For a WiF RP that can be used to build war machines ? I'd rather simply leave it as "Food". I plan on putting "Cattle" for Calgary though.ORIGINAL: marcuswatney

The black text on the mountain terrain is a little hard to read, but legible - and none of this affects game play, so it doesn't have to jump off the screen at you.
Funny that you make that remark, I just made it yesterday (or the day before) on the private MWiF playtest Forum. [:D]ORIGINAL: Orm
The oil resources would benefit with a border around it. Like the resources have. Maybe in black?
[:D][:D][:D] That's a bug! And no one had complained about it until yesterday (Patrice). In fact, the regular resources have a much better border than what was being shown. The code just wasn't showing the borders that Rob Armstrong (graphics) had provided for these icons. Mea culpa.[8|]ORIGINAL: Orm

I think the text is perfect. I think the black text fits nicely together with the black background on the resource symbel.
That the text doesn't jump off the screen as you say is a big bonus as only important information should scream out its presence.

How could we miss this one for months ! [X(]ORIGINAL: Shannon V. OKeets

Patrice probably has a better list than this, with the locations named. But here are all the labels he added to the data file. And yes, there are 3634 labels on the map.ORIGINAL: Borger Borgersen
Naming the resources looks really great. I wonder what kind of resource type you decided to place for the Norwegian resource. The resource here is the Knaben Molybdenum mines so the resource type should be Molybdenum.
The Finnish Petsamo mine should have the resource type of Nickel. The Swedish resources will be iron, of course.
Germany was heavily dependent upon wolfram (tungsten) and Portugal had a very important wolfram mine. China have the biggest wolfram mines in the world.
Do you have any uranium, platinum, gold, silver, copper, aluminium, titanium or diamond mines on the map?

The symbols for the factories are taken straight from WIF FE (using Australian Deisgn Group's original graphics). The same is true for the ports. I would prefer to not make any changes from those images.
You can change them.ORIGINAL: abj9562
I agree for Branding reasons they should default to ADG's graphics. Still, I would like to kow if the bitmap icons are hard coded or can we change the bitmaps to our own design?
I don't remember exactly how this is done, but the factory icons are drawn both with and without smoke to indicate functioning/non-functioning. That probably just menas extra bitmaps for each condition. I do know that there is a frame (red of blue) and 1 to 3 icons go in each frame (which means there are 6 frame bitmaps). If any of the factories are red, then the frame is red.ORIGINAL: Froonp

he factories may be complicated to change indeed, but the resources & oil are simple. Just replace the icon bitmap with another.ORIGINAL: Shannon V. I have a vague memory that the position (x and y offests) of the smoke is hard coded.
