The battle history screen looks beautiful. I assume there is a unit screen too, looking just as beautiful (right?!). My question is, is it possible to sort by the different columns? I really missed a sort-feature on the unit screens in FOF.

It's already possible to sort by unit in FOF, but you have to turn off the "hierarchy" button to do so. COG will also allow such sorting.

Sorry, should have been more clear - I meant the unit statistics screen where you see various statistics on all your units, including kills/losses so far in the campaign. The columns here are not sortable as far as I remember.

Great news about the possibility of having Denmark replace Sweden! Although historically, it was more like the other way around... [:(]

Ahh, now I understand. We're close to wrapping up coding on COG:EE, so I don't think it will make it in -- or, at least, not into the initial release -- but you should add that to the FOF Wish List thread, as well as the COG:EE one if/when the time comes.

HiHi

Looking good Gil, one very minor point you may wish to look at for accuracies sake, on the map of England you have what is the River/estury Humber marked as the Trent R.  In reality the River Trent is a tributary of the Humber flowing from roughly Nottinghamshire (marked as Midlands on your map) into the Humber about 1/2 inch (... on the screen shot that is [:)] ) in from the sea on the Humbers southern shore.

As I say a minor point, your call

All the Best
Peter

Outstanding! Can't wait - I finally had enough time recently to fire up the "old" CoG and play a little bit, and was reminded of how much fun the game is to play.

With these enhancements and some other tweaks and changes I've read or heard about, this promises to be great fun!

Thanks, Peter. In our defense, as the Humber is in fact an estuary, not a river, we felt it more appropriate to label that piece of water by the most important river whose waters flow through it, hence "Trent River", rather than "Humber". "Humber River" would have been inaccurate, and since the blue thing we drew on the map :) flows all the way to the Pennines, it represents more river than Humber. Looking more closely at the map, calling it either the Washburn or Calder might have more accurately followed the course of the blue thing--however, the Trent formed a historical division (and players of Kingmaker will recognize the name) so we felt it was more important to call it that. Redrawing the blue thing might have been possible, but many of our geographical divisions are schematic in nature (just take a glance at Germany) so we felt it was no great sin to leave it as-is. Nevertheless, we appreciate the suggestion.

These are some of the most stunning maps I've ever seen for a war game. The terrain is gorgeously rendered. Well done.
More, more!![:)]

More soon. Pixelpusher is now working on the ships for detailed naval combat, and as soon as those are ready I'll share. And perhaps one of the testers or I will even do a naval combat AAR before too long.

Can't release screenshots prematurely. Would you believe that there are still FOF beta graphics out there on the web? Some gaming sites just run with the first screenshots they get their hands on and don't bother to replace them. (This also explains why I'm using that nifty watermarking program.)

I totally understand.

I'll just have to find something else to do in the meantime..... [:D]

Very nice of screenshots... I would like to know how it goes... and soon to sell/update the game "Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition" to us [8|]

Oh yes, do this require normal CoG "Europe in the Age of Napoleon" to install Edition?

Thanks.

COG:EE will be a new product that does not require owning the older one to install.

What about leaders.  Can they be killed/wounded?  Is there going to be more than there is now?

Our goal had been to have it out before the end of summer, but for various reasons, especially the need to test the economic balance of all of the scenarios now that the map has been redone and numerous new provinces added, is forcing us to push that back a bit. We still have one scenario being finished up that will need to be tested, plus there's the usual hunt for bugs. So, we're definitely close, but it will now have to be after Sept. 21 rather than before it as originally hoped.

Expect some new screenshots and perhaps even an AAR or two quite soon, perhaps even next week.

We're very close to authorizing the beta-testers to do public AAR's if they wish to.
