Most unneeded bases were removed for that "sand box" test.  The real map has quite a few more dot bases than the old one.  There are a lot more bases in general.  The Philippines look like a political rally with flags on almost every land hex.

There are the new colored icons and the LCU map icons with arrows showing where the unit is marching to. There haven't been much in the way of changes to the various pop up screens in several months.

OK, I'll throw out a couple of 'nibblers' in regards to Bill's post above. The semi-screenies are from an AI vs. AI game which shows the new colored map icons based on nationality. They also show the march indication arrows for LCUs for the owning player. (The large black arrow is mine to draw attention to the LCUs).

Please note that this is a beta game version in which anything and everything is subject to change.

Here's another that shows the base information display and LCU information screen. The shot also shows, again, the LCU march directional arrow.

Same disclaimer as above.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! How many times have I sat there, staring at a unit and wondering exactly which hex it's traveling to at the rate of two miles a day?

The "different width" rivers from Elf's post are also cool.

The multicolored concentric circles around Mandalay - is that showing the new "drop tank" ranges? Presumably for the AVG 1st Squadron?

[:D]

Look three hexes east of Mandalay. There is a Commonwealth unit moving west. There are also a couple of Dutch units (greenish-gray) marching in the first screenshot.

We have included alternate color sets, so people can change their unit colors if they don't like the stock ones.

I had to look hard but I finally saw the arrows. They are tiny in that screenshot.

But they are a great feature. Thanks guys.

I also like the nationally colored icons. What happens if you have two nationalities at a base. Larger force wins?

Do the colored icons apply to just ground forces, or to the air unit and ships present in a base icons also?

If I can make requests, how about the starting Marine OOB/TO&E and the last Marine OOB/TO&E. I would love to see how they end up at the end of the war compared to the start!

Very cool. Thanks Terminus. So you all did add the armour into the division TO&E.

In Europe they were all about the combat commands (CCA, CCB and CCR), but the armour came from an actual armour division right? In other words, each combat command had two rifle and one armour regiment IIRC. These were taken from two rifle and one armour division, again IIRC.

So in the Pacific, was it just pernamently attached independent armour battalions? Or did they do something similar to the combad commands in Europe?

Thanks again

Ehm, a Combat Command was an Armoured Division thing. CCA, CCB and CCR split three armoured, three armoured infantry and three armoured artillery battalions between them. Nothing to do with infantry divisions.

Here's the TO&E for the USMC 1942 division, which is the starter:

Here's the end point, the USMC 1945 division. Note that although it seems like they have the same 1941-pattern squads, those will have been upgraded by the time this rolls around. Same with the other seemingly obsolete stuff:
