Russia engages in some technology transfer and shuffles some units on training exercises. China is already almost completely emasculated. Guess where the newly damaged AA queued.... Here is a pic of relative force strengths (and no, I won't go whole hog into arty - but I will build a fair amount of them, especially early on).

File sent to GKar.

This time the LW didn't have to deal with fighter escorts over the Med and did a good job, nonetheless they were spoted arriving in Malta and refiting, they will problaby be on cap next term.
The Yugoslavia coup d'etat hasn't take placed yet, but our forces are ready for it.
The Atlantic campaign has seen 3 more TF damaged, one of them with 1 supply.

Not a lot of excitement. Stalin watches gleefully as the conflict widens in the West. Disconcertingly, however, China appears to have been completely emasculated due to strategic bombing and poor production decisions. She is a sitting duck, should the IJA choose to expand inland. Fortunately, the preponderance of losses fall on Kai Shek's forces; the communists have (sensing the tide has turned) gone underground, ready to wage partisan war against both the Japanese and the Nationalists should an opportunity arise.

No screenshot this turn. Uncle Joe wonders what the Germans are up to. He fails to appreciate why the Wehrmacht would need 13 armour for England. That said, the Nazis have three paratroop divisions that might be used to threaten the British isles. Too, the Kriegsmarine has 6 large wolfpacks (including those of Italy) disrupting British shipping lines. Soviet intel provides little information of relative troop quality. German infantry are 6/6; German armour are 8/7; fighters are 6/6 (range one); subs 2/2. Stalin suspects that a number of higher quality units are in development, as available information would lead him to question where German resources have been going (admittedly, they have been occupied with England). He orders that infrastructure repairs be made to East Poland so that troops might be easily moved to the German border, should this be necessary.

Receiving a plea from both Nationalist and Communist Chinese for aid, Russia decides that neither side are fit allies and that gift munitions and training would simply be wasted. If Japan wishes for China, she may have it.

For now.

Spring 41 Germany

Our scientists have succesfully come up with the right measures for those new depth charges employed by the brittish bucaneers [:D], our uboats will be more deadly next turn.
Meanwhile the Wehrmacht keeps driving south to erase a possible threat from Greece, it's fleet bombed in port before it could run away and join the RN.
Norway was peacefully ocupied to prevent a Brittish invasion...
Two transports were damaged in the Atlantic.

I am sorry to post out of turn, but I am going on holiday from the 22 through 31 and will be MIA. In the interest of keeping everything moving, herewith the news from the Russian front:

Stalin was impressed by the Imperialist defence of the Med. However, he now views the shifting forces with a measure of alarm. Cables are received from Turkey, asking for Soviet support in the eventuality of a German attack on the Bosporous.....

The loss of Norway is indeed a setback, now the Mursmank route will be harder to intercept, and the ruskies need supplies badly. Our BB was damaged in exchange for a LF, less than 50% chance but got hit [:(]

Barbarossa has begun even though our armies were not fully in position, waiting another turn would only have made things worse, cassualties have not been very high, a german inf and fighter damaged and two militia destroyed, the Baltic States, E. Poland, Belorussia, Kiev and Odessa taken.

In the Atlantic two TF destroyed, thanks to our new intelligent torpedoes [:'(], one TF was carrying 2 supplies that now are at the button of the ocean.

OK. Back from a 12 hour flight. Am not too jet-lagged, I hope.....

Faced with the consequences of Germany perfidity, Stalin suffers a crisis of confidence; virtually no word is heard from the Kremlin. In the absence of any direction from the top, local generals take the initiative and order troops to fall back from Kharkhov and Sevastopol, along with whatever production they can salvage. Leningrad is fortified somewhat, but not too much. Germany can take her if she tries, but this will buy Mother Russia some precious months. Throughout USSR, milita are conscripted to provide fodder for the more experienced troops. The Russian navy damages a light fleet and severs supply lines to Sweden and Finland for the time being. In the only other offensive move, a squadron of tactical bombers is damaged in Eastern Poland. (my glee was lessened somewhat when I remembered we are playing 1.02 - strat bombers can still create CAM)

China does.... What does China do?

Strategic observation - RJH has concentrated armour in Belarus. This allows him to support major offensives against Kharkov and Leningrad, while also threatening Moscow, Rostov, Stalingrad and Grozny. Ugh.

The sea lanes are attack but due to the lack of subs and surface ships not to much can be done, sunk two TF, the soviets lose two LF, an attack on Leningrad was cancelled due to the low chances to succes (1% [:D]) and the high loses it would involve (>10), instead the industry in Leningrad was damaged aswell as a Resource Center in Baku.
