i dont think it was here - i think it was in general

That was me quoting one of the dev's posts on games going "gold". Typically, it takes a further 3 months after the gold announcement for a game to be released. Whether this applies to AE is purely conjecture.[;)]

I don't know why you guys are so uptight about AE. Just go to SF and click on one of the 6000 cap AK's - it will become an AE in 180 days (Maybe you should have done that 180 days ago)

The upcoming War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition. That will require WITP to play however, so I'd say WITP now in preparation for that release, which won't be too much longer.

Becuase he says nothing about Q1. Only that it wont be much longer. Hard to quantify what that really means.

Since my original post, you've seen the release of Commander: Napoleon at War, Close Combat: Wacht am Rhein and World War One: La Grande Guerre.

We were hoping War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition and Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition would also make it in time for Christmas to put a big finish on the year, but they're still in final testing and polishing, so I'm afraid those will be 1Q 2009 releases at this point.
Our next pre-Christmas release is Hired Guns, which is a great turn-based tactical combat game in the spirit of Jagged Alliance.

We're also finalizing our big Christmas sale plans, so check back before Thanksgiving for news on that.

I just can't do it. As Erik only implied that the 1st quarter of 2009 is the current goal.

I guess if it comes out in the Jan-March-2009 timeframe I could buy Terminus another bottle of a HAPPY beverage...

I to am a bit frustrated at the whole AE thing but we must all remember (including Japan) that the AE project is not a regular type game development effort. Its more like something being done a different way with actual players involved and the Matrix folks still have to do there real world job. I understand this but it does not make the waiting any easier. I also wonder when the smoke clears and all is done if Matrix will EVER try such a project again. Keep working guy's we know it is not easy.

Have you ever noticed that in the computer gaming world the longer a game (update) is in the works that when it is released the number of dissatisfied customers or the number of satisfied ones goes up depending on your point of view.

I always have wondered if a company comes out with a game they see as a surefire hit and start diligent work on an update but the game does not go gold.......LOL does the world come to an end?
