If I patch up to 7.1 I'll have the problem AGAIN that I reported when I started this thread......

Ok try this, before updating to ver 7.1 move your mech.exe file and OOB files in the MatrixGames\SPWAW\ folder to somewhere safe. Delete the steel.prf file and the holder.txt (if you have one) from the MatrixGames\SPWAW\save directory. Install the 7.1 patch, remember in the intallation path to remove the space between Matrix Games or the patch will be installed to the wrong directory. Try playing it again, if you still have problems just move the old mech.exe file and OOB's back into the MatrixGames\SPWAW folder. Sometimes things don't take the first time so it's always worth a second try. It can't hurt and will only take about 10 minutes to try. Plus I don't remeber telling you to remove the holder.txt file before.
OK.................

Those are some serious platforms. Good for you.
My brother just joined the Navy, he's in Nuclear Propulsion School currently. He loves it, he's class leader, and VERY hardcore.
He wants to be a plankowner on a Virginia Class SSN or something similiar.
I've been out since '92, I do telecommunications and server administration work.......
I'll try your suggested fix as soon as I get home from the office.
thanks for all the help.

Hopefully you have better luck the second time around. I haven't seen anyone only have problems with 7.1 and be able to go back to 7.0 without seeing the same problems. I wish you brother the best of luck, did you know that the honorable Paul Vebber is Navy Reserve?
