May 17, 2006 - Ubisoft has announced it will publish
Storm of War: Battle of Britain, scheduled to land November 2006 on PCs worldwide. Storm of War: Battle of Britain is the first installment in the new Storm of War franchise from developer Maddox Games. Ubisoft and Maddox previously collaborated on the IL-2 Sturmovik and Pacific Fighters games.
now, I agree this is not the same as our game, but if you are a flight simmer, and a fan of IL-2, you know they were working on it for a long time before it was announced, before it was suppost to come out Oct 2008, then Feb 2009, now it is Nov 2009
but you see don't anybody saying Oleg is dumb or lazy or that he sucks and don't know what he is doing

HS, not trying to be a smart arse or anything w/ the topic being what it is but from our replies, I'm getting a deja vu feeling like we had posted the same replies some time ago to each other. I tried a search but nothing came up, anyway to look back in archives to see if we're in the Twilight Zone or not

interesting.. it took less than a 3rd of time to create the game than it takes for you hobbyist "programmers" to update it. No offence but i really think you shouldnt be so cocky about it you know your work is like a trillion levels below mediocre.
Speaking of blocking gouys accounts just because theyre upset of your embarrasing slow and low-skill work is like shooting yourself in the head. I really wonder if Matrix would be interested in employee you guys at all if that eva was an option.
Sorry guys, you just show complete incompetence, why you even got hands of this game in the first place is beyond me...

After watching this .. stuff for some time I am finally moved to respond. I considered calling attention to the fable of the Ant and the Grasshopper, but I fear that would be too complicated for the minds that compose such posts as the one above. Then I realized that it has all been said before and I can do no more than quote from the words of the Master: to be specific the Book of TNOLL, Chapter I, verse 46. While it is remotely possible that the people in question would recognize the reference, I find it so unlikely that I will quote the verse in full:
"Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of mankind. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded - here and there, now and then - are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as 'bad luck' ".

Those wanting to purchase bug-ridden games already have that option - go get the originals.
Those who want something else, need to wait until its done.
I'll wait.

Green Button time.
That was the most offensive post I've read. You've accused me and the team of incompetence based on the fact that we're taking our time to do it right. You're persona-non-grata to me from now on.

Those that can, do, those that cannot, post about how they would do it, if only they could do it.

I'm not sure why some people seem to be getting so angry about this game. Sure, we'd all be happy to see it released right now.. but the way I see it, if it weren't for Hard Sarge, Harley and Matrix, we'd be stuck with trying to find the old versions, and getting them to work in XP and Vista.
As it is we can all look forward to getting our hands on an updated version at some point. Sure, it's taking time to do, the devs are working on it part time, and trying to do it properly..
Anyway, I don't much post on this forum, but I have been following progress and I just wanted to post my support

thanks
man, there is so much backstory to this game, like I have said, if the main part wasn't so boring, it would make a great movie

My first post here, and I totally agree. I will buy it the day it's released, whenever that is. It will be worth the wait, of that I am sure.

Im one of the Play Testers. The work these guys do behind the scenes is amazing. I have both of the originals, and had a wonderful time playing both. I was very happy to see someone taking on this project, as all the changes that have been made so far by this team are great. I am very happy about the multiple picture taking by the Recon. It helps alot The work with the planes and squadrons are wonderful. I think everyone will be happy with the final result.

No doubt of that. [&o]
The original had a great premise, but so many problems that it was very hard to enjoy. I'm sure it has been incredibly difficult to fix so much when this isn't what you do 24-7. But, trying to code the same thing from scratch would probably have taken a lot longer.

Actually, it probably would have been easer to write it from scratch. It's often much harder to fix someone else's code than it is to write your own to the same requirements, particularly something as complex as this game.
But really, I wanted to post to call vils a moron. "You guys are completely incompetent because you don't meet MY expectations and I WANT TO PLAY A GAME! NOW! WAAAAAH!!!" You have got to be kidding me...[:-]

Well ... if you want to see a game come out full of bugs go and have a look at the Empire in Arms forum ... gulp ... grimace!
Personally, I'll wait till it is fully ready for release.

Looking forward to this game being released as well as Witp:AE to use up all my pennies saved from work lol..and will have to get a new PC to play them on.Im sure the games when released will prove to all that all the hard work done by the team has paid off and we can look forward to more hours (wasted [:D]) being armchair generals...
