Here's my DXDiag.
I'm running Windows XP, though, so it's not a Vista 64-bit problem here...

Thanks, that's actually good info to know that it's also happening on XP.

i have the same problem.

Im under Windows Vista 64.

Playing under simple economy and the game runs great.

But under Advanced economy, the movement over the map is frustating, and if you select "trade router" vision, you can close the game because if absolutly unplayable.

My computer have 4gb of Ram and a Core2Duo 2,13 ghz processor. And a nice Nvidia card.

Anmy idea to optimice will be greatly appreciate.

Also just to confirm, are you all still seeing the slowdown in Advanced Economy mode if you turn off your various security/anti-virus applications?

There might be a difference in mouse-events causing a slowdown on certain systems.  The game refreshes the economic numbers in response to certain types of mousemoves, and normally this refresh doesn't happen that often.  It might be possible that different types of mouse hardware / drivers are sending the triggering message all the time.  To test this, I'll try making the economic refresh happen in response to something else that doesn't depend on the mouse.

Anything we could do in the meantime would be awesome. Could we perhaps disable our mouse to test this? Perhaps try another mouse? Something? Anything? LOL [:D]  Let me test your ideas!

Odd question, but in the interrest of solving this. Do you guys with the issues have a wireless mouse?

Kind regards,

Rasmus

Don't forget about us! Any suggestions on how to test solutions out on our end would be great.

on my 64 bit laptop, the only real slow down I see, is when trade routes is picked and I move across the map, then the routes stop, until I stop the scrolling

if I mouse over a province and click on the quick build Icon, then the mouse seems a little slower on the scroll, while that province is still clicked on, but I see a slight slow down, not what has been seen by the others

so I am not sure

Ok guys, might have solved this. I have 2 mice in my device manager. HID-compliant mouse and my Microsoft Optical Trackball. I disabled the HID compliant mouse and reloaded COG with Advanced Economy. I am happy to report that the lag is IMPROVED but NOT ELIMINATED. For me, at least, it is moderately playable with small annoyances rather than totally unplayable. Going to try disbaling the other mouse and enabling HID-compliant mouse to see if I get anything different. Will report back if hings change.

Eric, still need a fix on this, but this info may help out.

I only have the Logitech G5 mouse on this computer, no other input devices. My mouse reports per second rate is at 500, I tried to lowering it, but that made no difference.

I don't know, I';ve tried everything I can think of, but the lag remains. I actually find it easier to scroll the map with the arrow keys to position the cursor then use the keyboard commands from there. Pretty annoying.

I have had only minor lag problems, and only with advanced economy enabled. When I completely uninstalled (not just turned off) Ad-Aware, however, my mouse movement became noticeably smoother. Give it a try.

Edit: Lag is very bad on the trade map view, however.
