Napoleonic Archive but give us a week or so to add some more upgraded maps and other content.)
This whole Napoleonic Archive thing continues to astonish. [X(]
Bear with me, you NA elders. After years of wandering in the gaming wilderness and worshipping false gaming gods, I've renewed my faith in The One True Gaming God
[&o]John Tiller [&o]
and entered The Promised Land. (I played the standard scenarios back in the Talonsoft days, I just never got into the modding scene since then.)
I've recently begun reading Chandler's
The Campaigns of Napoleon. And now, because I've downloaded and installed all the Republic Revolution: Battles of 1792-1802 scenarios (so far), I can play each battle scenario as I read about the battles in Chandler's book.
A ... Life-long ... Dream ... Come ... True.
I had earlier downloaded and installed the Third Coalition: Battles of 1805 scenario series. I have created short-cuts (links) for every single battle. To organize it all, I have created Start Menu subfolders for each scenario series.
I can see where I might want to, on a scenario by scenario basis, futz with the graphics files to tone down the garishness of, in a few cases brighten, some of the 3D terrains. Fortunately, I have the graphics tools and experience to accomplish this. At least the 2D terrains are all good. The 2d & 3D units are acceptably good to great in all cases.
I am looking forward to years and years of enjoyment with this! [:D]
It will be all the more enjoyable if I/we can organize the ACW mods and scenarios out there in a fashion similar to the Napoleonic Archive project.
If packaged and publicized correctly (installation procedures are still a bit daunting if you're not a computer geek; fortunately I am), this BG Series still has so much appeal and potential.
This is just so ...
Utterly ... Jaw-Droppingly ... Amazing!
