SITREP: Egyptian Advance
10th Army continues to press east on coastal highway towards Mersa Matruh. No enemy contact within last 3 days.
Supplies are slow in catching up to forward units. Request additional motorized support in order to sustain advance.

Turn 9 - October 16th, 1940
SITREP: Egyptian Advance
10th Army continues east on coastal highway. No enemy contact reported. Supply network is extremely degraded on existing infrastructure. Units suffering from supply and equipment shortages.
Mersa Matruh next objective. British forces suspected within 15km of city.

Contact made with enemy forces. Sibille Division reports contact with British 1st Hampshire Motorized battalion 40km SSW of Mersa Matruh. Friendly infantry and artillery moving up in order to prepare for assault.
1st CCNN Division made contact with unknown British Armored Cavalary unit along highway some 55km W of Mersa Matruh.

Turn 10 - October 19th, 1940
SITREP: Egyptian Advance
4th CCNN Division reports contact with several battalion of enemy motorized infantry along highway 45 SSE of Mersa Matruh. Friendly casualties were heavy, including the evaporation of at least one infantry company. Enemy intentions appear to be designed to split friendly forces in half and stop the advance towards Mersa Matruh.
Enemy OOB appears to be battalions from the 70th Infantry and 4th Indian Divisions.
Friendly counterattacks on 4th Indian, 1st Welsh Battalion failed.

Catanzaro Division moved SE from coastal highway to block British advance. All available artillery moved into the area in order to assist.
1st CCNN Division advancing to surround/destroy 3rd/11th Hussars.
Gruppo Maletti encountered unknown British unit along coastal highway 30 km SW of Mersa Metruh.
Advances continue.

Turn 11 - October 23rd, 1940
SITREP: Egyptian Advance
Mersa Matruh captured by 1st CCNN Division with no casualities. Two British battalions reported destroyed SW of Mersa. Advance E continues.
Supply continues to be a problem as friendly forces move E. Roads are poor and incapable of supporting large amounts of supply traffic. Supply trains are only able to move a maximum of 40km per day.

SITREP: Egyptian Advance
1st CCNN Division takes Sidi Haneish and Maatan Baggush without incident. Dug into positions NE, E and SE of the townships.
Rest of forces minor movement - along coastal highway between Mersa Matruh and Sidi Haneish.
Supply is horrible. Request movement of forces be kept to a minimum for at least 2 weeks.

SITREP: Egyptian Advance
Units digging in and awaiting British counterattack.
Supply is still very poor. Reinforcements not due for several weeks. Temporarily halting advance.

Turn 19 - November 20th, 1940
SITREP: Egyptian Advance
British counterattack has begun.
British 70th Infantry and 4th Indian attacking on a broad axis from Sidi Musa SE to Bir Talab. Initial reports friendly casualities heavy. Supply in this area still very weak. Counterattacks impossible.
Request emergency assistance.
