Is that ver125 or a mod patch?

Bhruic patches are to be installed upon a 1.25 version of the game...it's easy and fixes every bug i know. Check the Atari forums:

Most of the reviews back then were not good. Pc Gamer only gave it a 40% if I remember correctly.

I hated Moo 3, it ruined the series.

What are you some kind of space junkie? It looked great but was the most confusing game I ever saw to play. "When you get in to it"? What a joke. All that hype and showing those great screen shots and it turned out to be such a dud. MOO2 was not bad but MOO3 get real Dude.

all the patches in the world could not help that game. We all wanteed it to be as good as they said we all believed them with those great screen shots....what a bunch of crap.

I KNOW AE won't be another MOO3....right guys?....guys...

PS: I don't hang in witp forum as much since the new people are asking the same questions we asked back in '04.

In the MOO3 gamespot review, it says the timid AI is a big problem cause it tends to defend but not attack.  Do those patches do anything to improve the AI performance?

Yes. As with the current Empire Total War, MOO3's AI was unable to conquer enemy planets. The problem was it disbanded troop transports if the enemy planet was more than one turn away. This has been fixed. I am not playing on the hardest of difficulties because i would lose all the time. AI in MOO3 is good with those patches...it just didn't work as it should when the game was released.

Cheers

Thanks for the info, Anguille.  I will have to try this MOO3 sometime if I can get a copy.

But I think NWS Online Combat Gaming Store would be the most trustworthy.

Tons of advice, thanks.  I didn't mean to italitize the last part of my post.  There's some button on my keyboard I hit by accident and it starts the italics.  I make some weird looking emails sometimes with them half in italics so people think I'm feeling urgent or something.  My kingdom to know what that sneaky button is.

Not sure, but I hit the blasted thing too.......same for suddenly underlining everything. Never hads it happen before, so figure it is a vista thing

keep thinking about buying another copy. Had it at release, but was so disgusted that I have not seen it since 2003.

Greybriar, I bookmarked that Combat Game Store website.  It looks good for buying any games not here on Matrix.  Thanks for that.

MOO3, I have always like the game. But I find people really like the game or hate it. Its really a decent game when you get into it. Just wondering if any one else has played it and what their thought are on the "Old Thing".

I bought it, played it for a week, and swapped it for Civilisation 3. I almost felt bad for him.

For some reason the more I played it the more I liked it.   The patches helped, but probley will not change how most look at it.  It is my favorite 4x space game.[&o]

Remember if you load it up read the read me file on opening(on the cd) and coping the music files to the main game folder.  I am not sure if the patches fixed this.  If you don't do it your cd may run continously.
