It's a pity such a well thought out game system does not seem to live anymore. Couldn't Matrix step in and lend a helping hand?
Or could we get a status update at least?

I certainly second that!

Did you hear anything of cutting FPME ?
Until now I´m pretty confident, that it will be published one day. [8D]
I agree, it would be a pity, if one of the best tactical gaming systems would be dead.

It certainly is a great little game and is deserving of continued support. I would certainly buy FPME.

I have been waiting for "some" word about Flash Point Middle East, but it appears that this one is wayyyyyyy on the back burner or gone?
Matrix doesn't even seem to want to comment on anything about this title.

Hi guys. We are still very much at it but somewhat bogged down in the historical research end of it. The game is code and art complete but not yet data complete.
The latest update actually showed up on this thread a couple of weeks ago now -
tm.asp?m=2612633 - so rather than rehash it I'll just flag it for you.
Just recently I upgraded my compiler to Delphi 2010 which gives us unicode support. The nice thing about unicode is that it makes translation into non-Latin languages a lot easier. We aren't doing any translations yet, but that is a possibility if the game does well.
There have been massive changes since FPG and I think you will really like them. With very little additional work we can bring the FPG scenarios into the new engine - the working title for that is Flashpoint Campaigns - Red Storm.

Here is a little screenshot from yesterday's build to whet your appetite.

The yellow circles with 4 M's embedded are minefields, the boxed yellow numbers are unclaimed victory point locations, and the dotted yellow boxes with "PPF" in the bottom right corner are pre-plotted artillery fire locations for the Israelis. The blue and red dotted lines delimit the setup boundaries. The Egyptian units to the right have been spotted in a general sense but not well enough to get a target loc for direct fire weapons. The small red triangles on them are an indication of their current facing which is a strong hint as to the fact that they are going to move in that direction.
The little portrait of the force commander is just a normal png file and you are free to drop a photo of your own mug in there to get a really personal feel if you like, lol.
