Anyone remember the BBC series narrated by Sir Laurence Olivier during the 1970's about WW2 I forget the name but the theme song and graphics were terribly appropriate and always seem to convey the drama of the conflict - Does anyone know the name of the piece of music played at the beginning and end of the show.

Willy,

That is the series that is talked about right before your post.

It was called The World At War, and yes, it was great. It is available on tape and as Karnaaj reminded me off, it is also now on DVD!

John,
These are great maps! I found most of them a year back but you found a few new ones to me. I have been looking for a specific series of maps in the Overlord campaign. There are many very detailed maps of the American beaches and Airborne drop zones and the inland areas where the Americans pushed through but, I have yet to find one single map of the same topographic quality for the British and Canadian beaches and areas inland. I have been searching for over a year and I dont seem to be able to find any. If you or anybody reading my post know of such a site please inform me. I have found some but no topographic relief maps of the day.

Later,
Zaxilon :D

zaxilon,

Glad You liked the maps.

I also am looking for the kinds of topographical maps you mentioned! Being Canadian, I too have searched for maps on the Gold, Sword and Juno beaches. I will keep looking, and maybe between us and the rest of the Matrix community, we will find them one day.:)
