It’s not necessarily a runway we’re looking at, it looks way too narrow (matting area) so it must be a taxiway. Then look at Studebaker, it’s much closer to the trees… the distance between the plane and vegetation is larger than it seems, 15-20 yards in my opinion. So the place definitely is bigger and more developed than Segi Point. As for the squadron it’s pure guessing now, I’ve looked thru a couple of sources more and it looks like some Corsairs from VMF-215 and 225 (based at Munda and Vella Lavella (!)) also had that white line on their tails, it could be a factory marking of some kind.
