Thanks guys, just trying to have fun with this. Rommel wrote a book and it came back to haunt him according to Patton, so I'll prob meet same fate vs Bob, but its all in fun.

This was not a day at the beach for me. Replaying some maps isnt always so good the second time around. It wasnt great first time we played it (crashed GC), but this time my oppenent was very aggressive, and it payed off.

This battle concluded a marithon of CC action. Thank God I am off today!

Edit: I have to add this. Bob told me lone German that took out my tank also had 6 infantry kills. In the end he wanted his Free MTV, because he just surrendered! Sadly I have to report he was shot trying to use the remote (that was not included in the deal)!

Special Note:
On Gold Beach nothing major took place, basically got inland off the beach. The 69th then were rushed into the Arromanches area to support a breakout of the 231st pushing toward Crepon.

Uncle Red and Tare Green have now been secured. With very few surviving German teams from the opening beach assualt, Bob put up the best defenses he could but they were just over run. Now the push begins inland to link up the AB units. Carentan here we come!

Note: Sadly battle for St Mere Eglise crashed at 17min mark(I wont get as lucky the next time we play it), due to my worthless dell super computer that continues to lockup when ever it feels like it. Old reliable sony will be put back into action, after reformating the HD its running like a charm! [:)]

Reports of overrun beach positions are nothing more than US propaganda. A mere handful of enemy troops have landed and they will be push back to sea shortly. Enemy airborne troops have landed further inland, but these will be rounded up and sent to labor camps.

In some places the enemy has not even made it past the initial cliffs/sea walls to get off the beaches and in other areas, such as Gold Beach, they have fled from our solid positions. Rear area forces will deal with these enemy units that try to skirt around our defenses, and we have additional units enroute to bolster these activities.

High Command has the situation well in hand and is in constant contact with our units in the field.

Turn 2, day 1.

Berlin Betty has been busy this morning, June 6th, 1944. Shes got a lot more to talk about as the invasion of normandy begins! Her audience is growing by the minute!

Paratroopers of the 505th hit the ground in the early morning hours today and liberated the first town in France, St. Mere-Eglise. It didnt take long for the Germans to regroup and counter attack our positions. We are ready and waiting!

Due to Clouds and heavy anti-aircraft fire, our planes strayed off course and thus the drops were not to our liking. With our primary targets (the bridges over the Douve River, at Pont L' Abbe.) now unattainable we have establish the Merderet bridgehead and will hold out until help arrives from the coast!
