Using the macro-free spreadsheet, thanks for an excellent tool!! [8D]
(...and there is no problems with the "Tank, gun or mortar crew" in the drop-down menu of that version, works like a charm.)

I think I've cracked the 'mystery' with the Bren-gunner as well: In 'soldier' he has the Bren as a crewed weapon, so I think they must be "Tank, gun or mortar crew" in order to use it... (Seems logical anyway [8|])

cheers

NOTE: Some weapon classes are hard coded! Off board artilleries, mortars and all grenades should never change indexed positions."

I thought this did not apply to the re-releases?

I managed to change everything I wanted except the unit names.I mean I changed the names in bgroups and fpools and replaced the text files in BASE folder, but when I open the game and try to create a new scenario the battle groups names are unchanged! Am I missing anything???

Do you mean the white writing on black across the top of the screen?

You are probably right CSO_Talorgan, he still needs to edit the graphical names in ScrnGadg.gdg....

Use RtBTool to extract/open the current file and then edit the TGA graphic files (make sure to save in 16 bit and if I remember correctly to flip them upside when you save the new version). Then use RtBTool to repack the file....

I think flipping is only necessary with GadgetMunger.

Triarius - you have created a wonderfull tool - but it works only for 4 days :)
I have created a sub mod for 25days and had to do many things manually. Any chance you can make it for a preseted number of days?

thanx
Michal

it works only for 4 days

That's a game limitation rather than something Triarius has done.

From campaign.txt:

# Campaign length, in days, max is 25
25
# Strategic turns per day (valid range 1-4)
2

Just remember to update the fpool for all the BG's to match the number of days and turns per day....

see the campaign.txt and fpools.txt of Classic CC5 as an example.

From campaign.txt:

# Campaign length, in days, max is 25
25
# Strategic turns per day (valid range 1-4)
2

So 100 turns in total.

Grand!

Omaha - Dog Green always leaves me a bit frustrated: it's one of the epic battles of WW II, and a beautiful map in CCtLD, yet the German side barely gets enough manpower to organise a sightseeing tour. I have used my tool to give them a bit more punch - maybe too much ! Check it out on the usual place.

If you play as the Germans, maybe it's a good idea to:
* put your guns in the bunkers bordering the beach, where they would have been historically.
* do not move heavy units between turns. Guns cannot disappear and magically reappear somewhere else !
* feed in reinforcements from the left.

If you play as the Americans, you could consider to:
* arrange your units in a random order along the water line at the start of the game.
* feed in reinforcements from the right.
* and of course, also keep heavy units in the same spot between turns.

Thanks triarius.

it should be pointed out that installing this will corrupt your standard tLD installation.

make sure you back up your tLD \data\base file first, then install this dog green mod

triarius, have you tried using bernd's mod installer for safe and effective mod installation, it's ideal for this sort of mod and leaves stock tLD playable.

You're quite correct to point that out, Andrew, mea maxima culpa ! I have replaced the files with a mod file. First time I did this, so I hope it is OK.

Version 2 now available

Version 2 is now available:

* it has been integrated with the elegant ModInstaller tool, created by Bernd. This will allow you to create one or several mods on the fly, and to decide whether you want to launch a modded version or the standard version.
* you can now edit the fpools and campaign files, in order to increase the duration of a campaign.

You find this version at the usual place, or at the Matrix Games download version (if the people at Matrix Games are kind enough to place it there).

Due to persistent problems with my provider, I've had to put a copy of the editor here.
