Will the manual released in the members area be printer ready or will it have compressed (fuzzy) graphics?  Does a physical purchase allow a digital download?

The manual in the Members Area will be the full, final manual (E-Book version). Fully printer ready for those that want to print it out, but I recommend ordering the boxed copy as the full color printed manual that comes with that is quite nice.

This is great news!!!!!! Erik, will Matrix be offering AE merchandise for sale, coasters, posters , T's and such?

Yes, though I can't guarantee the merchandise will be available on the release date, could take a couple of weeks longer for that to show up.

We expect AE to be released in the second half of July. The manuals have not yet "landed" but they are currently on schedule to arrive in our warehouse in that same second half of July. As soon as we have confirmation that the manuals are safely in hand, we will release the game. We are very close to gold on the development side, currently we are checking a gold candidate and it looks like the next build will _probably_ be the gold master.

The confirmed pricing for AE will be $59.99 Download / $69.99 Physical, which is $10 less than War in the Pacific. We will also be discounting War in the Pacific for a limited time to coincide with the release of the Admiral's Edition. The goal of this is to make it a bit easier for wargamers who may first hear of WITP/AE because of the AE release announcement to "buy in" if they wish. We recommend that gamers who have not played WITP purchase and try that first before deciding to upgrade to AE.

The Admiral's Edition _requires_ that you own and have installed a copy of War in the Pacific (any version) on the same system where you plan to install AE. If you have not, AE will not install and will not run.

AE does _not_ install on top of WITP, but it requires it to install and run. After you install AE, you will have two separate working games. You can continue playing WITP and any ongoing solo or PBEM games without interruption while firing up AE and getting started with that.

When we are about a week away from release (our best guess) we will release the full AE manual in the Members Club to get you started. This download will only be available to those who have registered their copy of WITP.

Regards,

- Erik

You know Eric now that you have given us concrete information we will probably lose over half of our posters. Not as much left to speculate about.

Great !  59/69 $ is all fine, but what about Europe ?  What will be the cost in € ?  What would the shipment costs be, if any ?  Will we be able to purchase the physical box, and get to download the game while we wait for the arrival of the pack ?

As with all our releases, pricing for the rest of the world will be set on the day of release, based on the exchange rates at that time. We have a warehouse in the UK, so shipping costs to Europe are quite reasonable as all orders for Europe are fulfilled from that warehouse rather than our US warehouse.

All our releases have a "Physical + Digital" option which allows you to download and play now while you wait for the boxed copy to arrive and AE will be no different. I think this is the best option personally.

Regards,

- Erik

Physical + Digital it'll be for me! [8D] Starting my vacation July 20th and having birthday July 26th...timing for AE release is good for me! [:D]

Great! I can't wait!! I would go get the manuals if that would help!

You'll have to!!! The sampan is heading for a landing on Easter Island. Unfortunately they only have a coconut log pier and NO naval support so the manuals will just sit there indefinately.... or get tossed overboard. Either way we are SOL as usual.[;)][;)]

Erik Rutins,

with witp-ae being matrix games "flagship" game, are there going to be any special preparations for the increased download load on the system. will you be buying additional bandwidth. Will there be a choke on the downloads or will the system be able to handle it? what about pre-orders.

looking forward to the release of witp-ae.

Erik,

There is a specially priced collectors' edition with a manual autographed by Terminus. It is available at a 15% discount if you buy the "T" merchandise at the same time. Unfortunately, the special (and signed) manual only has one word: "No".

The pricing for the specially priced collectors' edition is a figment of your imagination, as is the game.

(Why to go, T, and all the rest of the crew! Wow!)

Hi,
Thanks for the answer, Erik. It's good news, let's hope the dollar will go down from now on.[:D]

And I agree, physical+download is the best solution. But now, I really have to hurry to get my laptop repaired, and my free time... freed.

There are no different editions of this game. Each game in our catalog only has one edition. This happens to be a "Collector's Edition" meaning that all boxed copies of this game come with a full color printed manual.
