Good thing I was not an Allied pilot. I think I would face a serious moral dilemma is asked to strafe a column of elephants.

By 1944, most of the German army was horse drawn. Truck production hadn't kept up with attrition and fuel was scarce anyway. Before the D-Day invasion, US fighters returning from escort missions were ordered to go down on the deck and strafe anything that moves. That included horse drawn supply wagons. I've read that many fighter pilots had more problems doing that than any other task they were ordered to do.

No its a Mk iv.. The Mk III was phased out by front line Zoo's prior to this picture... You can clearly see the 88mm between the tusks (very vage eastern front refrence)

Oliphaunts definitely have 88s or better....perhaps JagdPz VI 128s. But they are quite susceptible to Elves. [:'(]

Could you place yourself as a tank crew of a t-34 or sherman and see one of those jag Pathers comming into view? what did they have 5" of Armor on the front???

Something like that....of course, they were so few that just a troop of elves would eliminate them. [:D]

Look how steep that is! A mule might balk at that. And look how much crap they can carry.

Somebody needs to say in which army they are employed.

..12,000 horses,including mules,30,000 oxen and 1,030 elephants were used by the 15th Army..all the horses died in the mountains but several mules that survived arrived back at the river.Japanese horses died earlier than mules.The average time that Japanese horses survived..was 55 days against 73 days for mules.It was remarkable that almost all of the elephants were able to survive despite hard work in such difficult jungles and they returned to Burma..
