Denmark did surrender as expected. We still have a number of reserves units idling around in formerly active theaters that cannot be usefully deployed at the current length of front to France. And yet, the German high command is not certain whether they can afford already a another theater of operations. Maybe the units will be required later in France after all. Currently those units can be used to dampen an early USSR surprise attack on the Axis. This early Soviet attack is not out of the question either as only a small number of Soviet forces are employed in Finland so far.

Finland tries to stay a thorn in the side of the Soviet empire for as long as possible. For now we are still fighting even though we see our strength slowly being drained.

We can take Rotterdam this turn and await the capitulation of the Netherlands any time.

The Finish lines are creaking at the seams - still holding but slowly fading.

After the fall of the Netherlands Brussels and the region around Metz have become the two focal points of the German attack.

There is finally some progress in the area near Metz and it looks as if Belgium has to capitulate soon as well.

In time for Christmas we get a nice surprise present in form of an unoccupied Dijon. Our territorial advance has accelerated after breaking through the initial French defensive line. But there is still much ground to cover.

Italy feels finally confident enough to join the Axis and claims her share of the spoils. However, they have decided to focus entirely on North Africa and will not participate in the European Theater other than having a flimsy screen towards France. We expect a savage naval battle to ensue shortly in the Med over supplies routes and convoys.

Not a happy Christmas in Finland. Especially the population of Vyborg suffers from lack of supply and constant Soviet pounding. The remaining troops in the pocket get ready for a last stand.

A new year has started and when looking back at the old one we are not unhappy. We have not achieved anything extraordinary but besides a few annoying setbacks we are more or less on target.
1940 will be a crucial year for the Axis where we can still press our short lived advantage before reality will catch up with us. We have to try to make the best of it.

Where is the Royal Navy? Well, we are actually happy if they stay in port .... but more likely they just assemble for a grand strike in the near future.

We leave Paris to the Infantry that follow in the wake of our tanks and bypass Paris to reach our targets in southern France as soon as possible.

We offered Yugoslavia to join our side but they remained stubbornly neutral. Who is not with us must be against us - war is the logical consequence - and we will need the Yugoslavian resources urgently in the future.

At first glance the Finish map looks the same for a number of turns now. But on closer inspection it is visible that the Finish loose every turn a bit more.
