Also, what does the asterisk in the "TF Routing" field, on the TF screen, mean? And the asterisk in the extended-range field of an air group?
In TF Routing, I think it's number of waypoints given to TF.

What about the asterisk next to an air group's mission, like No. 135 RAF Sqn in this screenshot?
Edit: looks like it means that the group has more than one type of patrol set.

And yet more!! As you go though the various Unit Information Screens asterisks abound. Some units have them next to the "This unit is composed of" as well as the individual items within the unit.
There definitely needs to be some legend to describe what all these, and others already mentioned in the previous posts (as well as those not yet identified) mean or represent.

Edit: looks like it means that the group has more than one type of patrol set.
Meaning that this group is training/resting next to it's active missions..... (E.g 30% train plus 30% CAP)

I am bumping this thread that had already been buried to the 7th page with only partial responses.
Does anyone know what the meaning of the various asterisks are on the Unit Information Screen? If this is a case of RTFM please point me to the source(s).

Edit: looks like it means that the group has more than one type of patrol set.
More than one patrol level is set - eg cap/rest/training might all have a % but as I can only show one on the screen, the '*' means there are more.

After a long turn, I got this report. "AE widow slaps husband in the head *** "
The three asteriks mean that the blow was severe enough to cause coffee to come up out of my nose, slight bleeding out of one ear, and a prolonged dizzy spell. Because I am an Allied player and had "Allied damage control" enabled, I was able to lock myself in the bathroom, take two asprin and was back up and gaming in 30 minutes. A Japanese player might well have died before reaching the bathroom...

Asterisk next to parts of a Division? What does that mean?
Can the Japanese 55th Division ever be put together when parts say N/A and Inactive?

There may be battalions that need to reform into a regiment/brigade. There may be subunits destroyed. There may be part(s) that are assigned to a different headquarters. How about a screenshot?

If you combine the 3 battalions you will get the 143 reg. Then combine all elements and get 55th division....GP

When the division is (re)formed there may be additional devices that need to be supplied to the unit as reinforcements.

I've noticed an asterisk out next to several leaders when going in to try and reassign a leader to an air unit (may be there for ships and LCU's as well, just hadn't noticed it). What does this represent? Are they already assigned to other units or something?
This means there's a chance the leader may have the gaul to run a squadron but probably not the right temperament for the job. Avoid those.
