Here are some big things I have noticed after many hours of play:

- The AI needs to focus on attacking enemy airfields, not ground units. The AI should only attack with air units in conjunction with a ground attack. I realize that under some circumstances they should attack ground units, but the AI simply cannot do this judiciously. This AI trades PPs at the loss of 10-1 most times.

- The AI simply speads itself too thin most times, this is especially true of Great Britain. Historically, the British do undertake many adventures, but they knew when to pull out, the AI doesnt.

A word of advice S555, give up on AI games, it just isn't going to happen, not even in your lifetime.  It will be years before these guys implement and perfect the scripts that will compell the AI to do the "right" thing, and even then the diabolical mind of a human will usurp them.

Concentrate on the game features that develop a model that exists under the limitations that were "the WW2 era" but allows you to explore the "what ifs" of different decision making consequences from the original historical belligerents.  In other words you can develop your historical hindsight within the chronological set.

I concur the AI needs to stop attacking ground units unless it supports a ground offensive. I've had the British AI ground striking my French division garrisons for over two years now. It loses the attrition battle vs my CAP alone, and then it takes losses from the AA during the strike. I understand if these were strategic bombers maybe, but these are simple ground strikes.
