Actually I dont know what Luc Picard said about children. But I am sure it is something clever. Please tell me. By the way are you up this early in the morning in Germany posting messages?

Hello Daniel,

he said that Riker must help him evading situations where he would be confronted with children.
I have not the exact words available (have lend the DVDs to a friend), but you will realise the Captain Picard has some difficulties in dealing with children (remember the episode where the enterprise broke down and everyone was in a situation unfamiliar to him/her?
Worf was together with Keiko O'Brian (and she gave birth to her daughter exactly at that time), and Picard was together with.... 3 or 4 children trapped in an elevator :) .

Nonetheless, Picard would like to have some children (Star Treck VII, in the Nexus he had a red-haired wive and celebrated chirtmas with a football-team-sized family...).
But he made the decision for his career and therefore against the opportunity to have a family (In an early episode called "...alway be in Paris" or something like that young Picard didn't show up to an important rendevouz because he made his decision to give his career top priority... I'm not exactly sure about this because I'm not a hardcore trekkie).

In this way, I think similar:
I don't think that I have the ability to work in a Kindergarten or in a school, but I would like to have a family....)

I'm up this early and posting messages here in Germany because I work in the QA of a medium sized IT-company.
I was going to start working at 4 AM in order to have some results at 9 AM or so, but the current version didn't start, so I wrote an EMail (the developers have stopped wondering receiving EMails from me at times like 4 AM :) ) to the developers describing the problem, another to our sales department people (no report from the QA before noon), went home, posted some messages, slept two hours and now I post some messages again and will go to work at 9 to 10 AM. (BTW: The posting times are shown in GMT, here in Germany we are one hour ahaed)

Regards,
Roland

PS: I hope the rest of the people isn't too insulted by this little off-topic conversation

Actually, my wife is a new teacher this year, and watching her work has given me a whole new outlook on the importance and difficulty of that profession.

Teachers rule imho.
