The decimal must remain for calculations and be shown in the detailed information boxes, but should be toggled (togglable?[:D]) on or off the counters at the player's option.

Way against the return of the decimal.

Greetings,

War for the decimal..its more micromanagement and I enjoy such...lets my good Soviets do well against the fascists.  I can still squash the germans by 1942 but i prefer the aspect of control. Less waste..and more control for my good reds.

Greetings,

A double line all pushed with int intel for growth, with molotov line..i can squelch the gernmans easily...all armour to the romanian front to crush all the rumanians, bulgarians, hungarian nationalists...my liberation front can control these rapscalions and their italian masters. I can roll the germans back from poland front areas with due control. Of course liberate poland and eastern germany then attack the capitalist british and americans...one world..one socialist state.

Maybe the British and Commonwealth units should have their strength represented in Imperial units and their production points in l/s/d [:)]

I vote for no return to the continental decimal system, but in the spirit of entente cordiale an option would be fine if the devs want to put the work in to do it.

P.S. just don't do something that means the excellent modders have to re-do (if they can be bothered) their work again

Very good comrade,

Decimals is most enlightened and reasonable.. the americans have little interest in reality. sadly. We good liberal british know the reason for such intransiance....oh well..no worries..... The world will revolve weather we wish it to or not..lol...cheers comrade..

Decimals are ugly. Anyways, the game displays combat odds for you before you execute any combat.

I suppose a toggle for this could be enabled, shrug.

Make it an option, or keep it gone.  I'd be pretty disappointed if we were forced to play with the irritating decimals.

An option for decimals would be best. I have learned to live without it, but there are times.

One thing I would like is a function key to highlight all units that could use replacements. It is burdensome to have to click down a long line each turn looking for damaged units. If someone knows an easier way to do this I would love to know it.

I would think that a socialist would deeply approve of rounding everything down.

We actually prefer to RAISE all levels to equality, but I recognise and accept that you've been fed propaganda and therfore have an incorrect perception.
I'm sure that that is what you prefer, but as with communism, what you'd like is not compatable with reality.

How about this?

Don't use a decimal point on the display.

Instead of showing 2.7 strength, or 2 strength rounded down...   Just show 27.  Problem solved.

I'd rather see a 27-6 unit  than the other options.   Just take the decimal out of the display part if it can be done without screwing anything else up.

That's all well and fine until numbers into the hundreds show up with German corps, especially armored corps, at higher levels.

IIRC, a typical armored corps with a leader, in my last game, had a strength in the low 30's thus showing up as the 300's if the decimal is removed. [X(]

Yes, this would be a bit problematic. Imagine trying to calculate figures of attacker's 431+54+188+12 divided by the defender's 67 in your head.

But frankly, I would rather have that than the decimals back.

In fact, tomorrow I will try using numbers by the hundreds, just to see how it looks.

Shall we have our cake and eat it too?

Options give us options!

Personally I prefer the cleaner no decimal look.

Still, If WI team chooses to walk the road less traveled.

Why not add one more degree of "zooming in" that shows a large enough unit to display the actual unit strength?

Now that would qualify as a bell and a whistle.

Ration strengths and vehicle numbers both? [X(]
Certainly the latter for German ToEs would be highly variable, even when at full strength.[:D]

Just one more step of magnification will do, I'm not talkin' about Satellite Capabilities. Otherwise we'd have to disable FOW in preferences.

Just so long as we can check that all their buttons are done up properly! Not asking much, really.

Actually, if you were quickly dividing the previous numbers (with the decimals in them) then it'd be one step less by dropping the decimals. [;)]

Of course, rounded off, you're not getting any accuracy.
