I think the best we can do is overwrite an existing scenario, but it certainly is possible. As long as you keep a backup of the appropriate original XPV.dat, you won't lose anything. It bears repeating that invasion and breakthu events are cued by the August 17, 1943 start date, so no early scenarios are possible as Italy will be invaded in about 14 days from the start of any earlier scenario. I have not experimented with any of the 1944 scenarios to see how that works.
What about using the BoB part of the game instead?. No troops involved, and no invasions. And also the scale seems better for a limited area, as could be a Malta scenario.

..Would love to hear why this editor was pulled off? Some legal stuff behind this? Speculation: If users are not allowed to enhance the game and create an editor I would like to see Matrix make one. If this is the case then it is sad really..
