I've definitely got overstacked bases (10+ units, 200+ planes at a size 2 airfield) and I still get no "Base Administration" or "Aircraft Stack Level" information.
I do however, get an exclamation point along side of the base icon. Does this exclamation point indicate overstacking?

Do you have Air HQ in range?

No. But this airfield is so overstacked, an Air HQ could not possibly completely eliminate the effects. (Just to test things out, I loaded Singora with just about every major airgroup in SE Asia. This level two airfield is absolutely loaded, and I am not getting any evidence of being overstacked. Try it yourself - open scenario 1 and transfer loads of aircraft to Singora. There is no message indicating overstacking, no matter how many planes you stuff onto the airfield.)

I just ran the turn and noticed AT THE START OF THE NEXT TURN, that the airfield was indicated as being overstacked! Why isn't this information provided during the orders phase of the turn you are working on? Why do you have to wait until after the fact to be told that your airfield is overstacked? Wouldn't it be more helpful to have the stacking limits indicated on the airfield screen prior to the player overstacking the base?

Just my thought that when you issue orders to transfer the aircraft to the base they all do not arrive at that time. So, when the turn is executed the rest of the aircraft arrive and the base is overstacked. I don't think that the game tracks the future level of aircraft at a base. Just my humble opinion.

Yes, I believe you are right. I just wish this information could be given prior to executing the turn. Or at least have a popup message that tells you that the group you are about to transfer to a base is going to result in overstacking. It really stinks to see ON THE FOLLOWING TURN that you have overstacked the base. Would it really be so difficult to add to the base screen a value telling you how many units you can stack at an airfield?

You have that, when you click on transfer button, you get a screen telling you how much all AF in range have support, lvl of AF, number of planes etc.

True, but this screen doesn't tell you when you are going to overstack due to the group limitation. ie - "You currently have 4 groups at this base.
This base can accomodate 4 groups. Do you wish to transfer and exceed the group limit of the base?"
The point is, there is pretty much no way of telling how many groups the base can support.

That would be nice.
If I have this correctly re. # of groups if I don't have a HQ nearby I can only stack one group per level of A/F? What is the sense in this? I could have like a level 4 A/F with 12 planes and the 13 th plane causes over crowding? Is there enough Air HQ to go around??
Thanks
